A great example of village Chablis from a master producer and a year I have always liked. Tonnes of crushed rocks, salty lemon, chalk etc but also fairly rich and frankly delicious. Textbook stuff

Good as ever. Slightly sour apples, less tropical fruit than some previous bottles, so back towards more traditional style.

Not quite as balanced or complete as the previous bottle.... or was it just the food match? With fish and chips....maybe a bit of clash with the homemade tartare sauce too. Was more at home with baked smoked haddock and cauliflower cheese 2 nights later. A little bottle variation - I withdrew the wine in 2 batches of 3 from TWS reserves, perhaps this explains it?

Seemed more rounded and complete than previous bottle. Never going to be s 'steely' mineral Chablis, but has a bit more acidity and backbone, yet with a rich almost honeyed finish. Good.

Moreish, so attractive. Ripe, creamy, peachy fruit to the fore, with the classic chablis wet rock character rather in the background. Gentle, lingering acidity. It just disappeared once poured, which tells you everything really. No need to wait.

과실미를 서포트해주는 적절한 산미 구조를 지니고 있는 괜찮은 샤블리. 향은 생각보다 약했지만 입 안에서는 훨씬 복합적인 괴실미를 보여줌. 좀 진중한 느낌. 블라인드로 마시면 샤블리로 콜 못 할지도. 19 20 빈티지 샤블리를 통칭해서 판단하는 것은 무리겠지만 확실히 21 22와 비교했을 때 개인적으로는 샤블리스럽지 않은 산미 특성과 바디감이 살짝 아쉽다. 그래도 맛난 샤블리임에는 틀림없다.

I thought that this didn't quite have the balance of some previous vintages; more specifically it lacked the 'raciness' and degree of acidic bite that I've seen before. Billaud wines are always quite fruit forward and not stony or austere, but this seemed to just lack a little edge, not flabby by any means, and not lacking in fruit. A whiff of struck match soon dissipated to reveal expressive citrus and greengage fruit. Still a little tensioned, this was dry with a splendid core of acidity, softened up with a lick of butter but ending on a bitter note. Compared to the 2017 and 2018 vintages though I found this softer and more forward in spite of its youth, without the underlying complexity of those earlier years. Still a very good wine. CHP 89+

For me one of the best village chablis. In fact this village is made with a premier cru method. Deep yellow in the glass. Fresh bread, ginger, lemon, almond and candied fruits. Marked salinity. Acidity well balanced with savoriness. Mineral and persistent finish.

Between 90-91 here. For village level, this is quintessential Chablis. No reductive profile aromatically, simply lemon, honeysuckle, sea spray. While racy, this has good weight on the palate. Underripe peach, almond, and mineral/limestone-like tart profile at the finish. Good acidity. Followed over two days and stayed consistent.
