Much, much too young. The fruit is very concentrated and intense, borderline caramelized, needs a couple of hours of air, at least. 94+ #Fusion#IB

Pronounced nose intensity of graphite, mineral, red cherry, strawberry, flora. Medium+ acidity and medium tannin. Tannin is fine. Still youthful but already drinking well. Need aeration. Wine is of outstanding quality. Tasted at Domaine Wine dinner.

This Gevrey-Chambertin Lavaux Saint-Jacques 2019 from Domaine Denis Mortet opens with a bouquet of lively red cherries, wild strawberries, and a grounding note of crushed stones. On the palate, it boasts a concentrated weave of black berries and dried spices, all anchored by leather undertones and a balanced acidity that complements the velvety tannins. The wine offers a medium to full-bodied structure, allowing a complex, harmonious interplay of flavors to unfold toward a long, structured finish.

Rousseau's Lavaux St. Jacques 2019 is a promising wine. It wafts from the glass with perfumed notes of red cherries, spices, cassis, smoke and some sweetness deriving from the oak. It has got very refined tannins and good length and minerality, while the oak feels very well digested on the palate, even though it still needs some years under the cork to develop.

Young but exquisitely balanced. Traditional gevrey destemmed burg. Well judged oak spice. Very well made. Would love to revisit in 10 years.

Some reduction. Super ripe and concentrated. Creamy texture.

Despite a young vintage, without decanting; pop and pour, it’s an already singing well in high tone. The wine maker is a rock star. Pronounced nose intensity with red fruits, red cherry, strawberry, spices, toast, graphite (I particular like this notes). Medium+ acidity and medium tannin. Tannin is silky. Can drink now or keep to improve with time.

Pop and pour, gorgeous layered and perfumed aromatics, masterful concentration, texture and energy. Rousseau always next level.
