Medium clear garnet color. Aromas and flavors of toasted nuts, dried cherries , cooked plums, and dried raisins. Medium plus acidity provides acidity for balance and to support a medium finish. Very good at a mid-30’s price point.

Purchased for $28. Tasted for #tawnytuesday. This Tawny surprised me. The wine looked very ruby in color in the bottle, so i was expecting a lighter, redder tawny. But I guess that was just the shape of the bottle playing optical ticks. In the glass, this is much darker than a typical 10-Year. Almost mahogany in color with ruby hues. On the nose, lots of dried fruit and caramel. Hints of Christmas spices. On the palate, this is on the …

Bottled in 1988. This is stunning-stunning-stunning!!! Beats most Vintage Ports I ever gushed... Magnificent light tawny colour, light even for a scrawny 10yrs tawny. Aromas came out like a house on fire. WOW! All that's expected with x-mas cake, driet fruits, dried figs, raisins, dried potpourri, tobacco, cigars, raw wood from a distance (not oak) plus a beautiful hint of oloroso oxidation. Medium sweet with amazing length, complexity, intensity and love. My Japanese guest had never had Port before and …

There is no bottling date given neither on the front nor the back label. Bottle is open for 24 hours, dark as ink, so quite dark for a 10 Year Tawny, smells of raisins, plums and a little bit of eucalyptus, not very sweet, medium body, not as hot/ spiritous as after the initial opening, in the mouth raisins, plums and cinnamon, in the aftertaste acidity, raisins and plums, good length (30 sec), in comparison to other 10 Year Tawnies …

Bottled in 2019, bottle is open for 24 hours: ruby red colour, smells of smoke, raisins and almonds, not that sweet, light body, in the mouth raisins, a little bit of smoke and acidity, a little bit hot, so the alcohol is quite present, in the aftertaste acidity, raisins and smoke, good length (30 sec), the smell is much better that the actual taste, there are better 10 Year Tawnies even in this lower end price range, would not buy …

Tasted at the Real Companhia Velho cellars. Earthy aromas plus fruit cake and coffee. The palate has red and black raisin fruit, spicy with a pronounced ground black pepper finish. This was tasted alongside the 20 and 40 year old and came second to the 40 but ahead of the 20.

Deep but rather translucent, dark reddish tawny color. Sweet, rich and very opulent nose with quite fruit-forward nose of dried figs, sweet dates, woody spiciness and elegant nuttiness. Although very attractive, the nose is also quite one-dimensional and alcohol shows quite heavily. Very soft and quite full-bodied on the palate, although the high alchol makes the wine feel a little less heavy and sticky. Sweet flavors of dried figs, peppery spice, savory wood, some maple syrup and hints of burned …

I like the big, rich nose. Kind of boring on the palate. 84-85

Nice dark color. Clean. Equally nice bouquet, if a bit alcoholic. The palate is classical tawny with raisins, candied sugar. Aftertaste is almonds and assorted nuts and it lasts long. Have to retaste. Perhaps an even higher score.

Nice reasonably priced port. A little quiet on the nose, but nice and long on the palate. Nice raisins and berries. A truly satisfying port.
