Solid crowd please. Good QPR. Plenty of life left in it. Needs some breathing time

Overwhelming presence of oak, good amount of tannins. Eat with meat as its a very full body, tannic wine overall. Hope the oak flavor softens in a few years, but for now, its not my taste.

First SuperTuscan Bordeaux blend I've had, purchased for $20 to get my feet wet with this region and blend. The grapes are a mix of 50% Sangiovese, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon and 25% Merlot. Stored at 55, popped and poured. Paired with some delivery pizza. Medium red on color, ruby hues on the edge. Nose of seasoning, herbs, fresh spices. Bountiful red fruit, wood smoke notes thanks to the Sangiovese. Somewhat generic scents, though, I hoped to pick up a little …

A typical Italian Rosso. Plum and blackberries with a darker palate and ample acidity to go with pasta.

On the basis of the tasting below I bought a half case. We have now had 2 bottles, the 2nd just now, and my overwhelming impression is a lot of acidity up front and not much finish which is tannic, which is disappointing. It could be that the 6 I have bought were kept much better than those bottles in the restaurant. I’m going to put the remaining 4 away for a few years.

very subtle wood, lovely perfumed vanilla, a good backbone and a good balance, elegant, concentrated and pure with also dark fruit in the taste.

Almost PnP although it did develop and smooth out during a restaurant dinner over the next hour +. It’s made up of 50% Sangiovese, and 25% each cab sav and merlot. Initially it tasted soft and fleshy like a Merlot but as air time increased that brought out the more prominent fruit of the other grapes. Soft and likeable tannins with good length. It’s available by the case for around £21 and at that price it’s an absolute bargain. I …

Henri Bloem, Bloemendaal, autumn tasting: flowers, smooth, gentle spices; it is, however, the persistent and complex aftertaste that impressed me most.

Notes of cherries and figs. Mouthfeel, acidity and tannins are medium-plus. Tannins have a medium-coarse character with a slight astringency.

Great Entry level supertuscan. These 2019s are really solid. Balance in these wines is quite incredible. Good to drink now or let set for 2-5 years.

Drank from a magnum. Medium ruby red, Some cherry, earthy notes with plenty of smoky oak. Medium weight and still austere on palate. End with a nice long finish and grippy tannins.

Last bottle. Turned out better than previous bottles.. Less heat and a lot smoother. Smells of raspberries and some Costco mixed berries. Light dry thin mouthfeel but pleasant.

This gets markedly better after being open for a few hours. The bitter taste fades, and the tannins chill out a bit.

Simple but nice and a good value. Tannins have softened since the last time I tasted a year ago but still have enough to last for at least few additional years. Sufficient acidity, too. Not too complex but both the nose and the palate notes are enjoyable. Would buy again, especially at this price ($15).

Another nice bottle. None of the bitterness as described last time. But I might have overrated this wine slightly. It is lacking some complexity. Still a great wine.

50/25/25 Sangioveto/Merlot/Cabernet. 12 months 50% new French oak. Nose is classic Italian of dried red fruit, mushroom, stewed tomato, fresh earth. Palate matches, smooth tannins.

My third bottle, and I still don't get the high rankings. This is cedar and earthy with nearly no redeeming factors. Damn bitter, too.

Sugary plum aroma. Flavor of sweet dark cherry. Mellow flavors. Just a little acidic imbalance. Decent finish. The wine looks ruby colored. The legs are medium. There is light sediment in the bottle. It smells like cherry and plum. It tastes like cherry. The body is medium/full. The wine has round texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has medium acidity.

We enjoy this wine. As noted by some fellow CT'ers, it is important to let the wine breath for more than 30 to 45 minutes before drinking.

Don't even think of drinking this without an hour decant. It was all vegetables and turpentine at first, before becoming a little more mellow over time. Still wasn't my favorite.

Bought a case thinking it would match up to the outstanding 2008 vintage. Unfortunately not. Had 2 bottles, I could dismiss one but unfortunately two bottles tasted very earth like and a bit too much cedar/oak overtones. No evidence of cork leakage but seemed unusual. It could be me-- I will try in 6 months.

A Maremma merlot based wine -- raw, minty, primary -- very little sangiovese on the palate, but the aroma benefits from the blend. Bright and vibrant, fruit-forward, yet showing some depth, with just a tinge of bitterness in the finish. Next to an oaky Chianti, this stood out as more balanced and more enjoyable wine. Food friendly and an excellent value.

En carafe un bon 2 heures. Vin expressif, ample avec une belle structure. Nez sur le cassis et le cèdre avec des épices. EN bouche, cerises et anis avec de beaux tannins charnus et doté d'un bel équilibre. Long et vaporeux.
