strong 89. grabbed this to drink with the MIL in town, just to see what a 2006 MI chard was like in March 2013. Shocked at the condition of the bottle. Loads of acidity helped balance what probably was too much oak. but a very enjoyable wine. notes of lemon curd, clove. tasty.

Not sure what the last few reviewers were drinking but did not describe our bottle well;ours was a characteristic chardonnay with oak at the front but ending with a nice creaminess;not necessarily the best ever but nothing wrong with this drinker,a tried and true chardonnay

Some of the other reviewers hit the nail on the head--oak, lots of oak, butter, marzipan, and maybe some mango tropical fruit. This is one of the creamiest chardonnays I've ever had, but it's way out of balance. Medium to short finish. Meh.

Not drinkable. Way too much oak, like eating the barrel. Most expensive cooking wine I ever bought.

Boy, I want to like this wine more than I did. Lots and lots of oak. Over-the-top oak. Did I mention oak? The winemaker recommend drinking with cream sauces, shellfish, or with creamy cheeses. He's right. There is a steely lemon note underneath the wine that proves the potential for this location. Hints of creme brulee on the nose are verynice. This wine isn't quite reaching the potental yet.

2007 Oregon Pinots (Chicago, IL) : Lots of oak. Just tons of oak. Palate was dominated by almond butter and/or marzipan. Incredible amounts of toast, smoke, tree trunks, and creme brulee. If you like oak-driven wine, this will be your favorite wine of all time. I couldn't taste any chardonnay...just wood.

a small look at some 2007 Oregon Pinots (Dorado, Chicago IL) : nose: brutally over oaked and buttered nose with almost nothing but butter and oak. There are some tones of mangoes and marzipan, but that's about it taste: overly rich and very full bodied with low acid and almost nothing but butter on the palate overall: this was my first wyncroft and it was a massive gutterball. This was just too much on the oak and butter. My glass …

Wyncroft Tasting (New Buffalo, Michigan) : Jim opened another bottle of this when he dropped off our wine order. I did not like this as much as when I last had it in March. It was first served at room temperature and almost knocked me out of my seat. Like getting hit with a 2x4. There was a lot of wood in this wine. Aged for 30 months on oak barrels rather than the 24 months which is normal at …

2010 Wyncroft Winery Visit; 3/25/2010-3/26/2010 (Wyncroft Winery, Buchanon, Michigan) : Poured at the winery during a visit alongside the 2005 and 2008. This was the first year that Jim used new Damy barrels (25%) instead of Francis Freres. 250 cases were made. 2006 was a cooler year than 2005 and resulted in a more Burgundian wine (vs. Californian for the 2005) which I like better. 13% alcohol. Young with tart acidity. A clean fresh wine with notes of lemon merengue …
