Thomas Bassot Mazis-Chambertin

Bad bottle. Cooked and funky. Undrinkable.

This wine showed a mature color. On the nose it had initial funk that blew off revealing a nice, but mature, core of fruit and sous bois. In the mouth, the initial contact and mid-palate were quite pleasing, and evident of a well preserved '78. The finish was slightly shorter than I would have expected from a '78 grand cru, but all-in-all, a nice bottle.
