Past it’s prime. Lacked any depth and length of flavor. Did manage to get some red fruit initially not much else after.

This is green, even for someone like me that really likes Loire cab franc. I won't go so far as to say I dislike it, but if you like robust fruit, this wine is not for you. Definitely needs food to show its best. Worse after the first day (stored under vacuum seal).

Huckleberry up front, vanilla and tannins and velvet out back. Real nice.

Forgot about this one in my cellar from when I purchased it 10 years ago, pleasant surprise. Stained through the cork about 20% of the way but no effect on the wine (bit of sediment, but a decant took care of it). Has that 'Rutherford Dust' aroma the folks at Sequoia like to talk about, with a secondary note of strawberry on the nose. Tannins are almost gone; weird drinking a cabernet that's sippable without food. I feared this may …

I just can’t get into these Sequoia Grove single vineyard Cabs, especially at the high price point. Not bad, but just average.

This is a big, rich Napa Cabernet. Color was clear and the aroma was dark and rich. Taste was excellent. Big and powerful, but very, very balanced and smooth. Nice dark (black & blue) fruit with spice, pepper, dust and oak. Man, this was just excellent. This is one of my highest scores ever. I’m just really hard on my scores.

2 hr decant. Black currant, black pepper, tobacco, and coffee. Full body. Tannins have softened. Classic Sequoia cab.

Hmmmm, I'm striking out with all my 2011s thus evening. Aromas of green pepper and eucalyptus. Medicinal flavor, with green pepper. Tannins are still tight. Perhaps more time in the bottle will help.

Staining through about 85% of the cork. Nice nose of coffee, chocolate, cherry, and heat. Not impressed by these single vineyard Sequoia Grove Cabs. Body is pretty plain with no unique characteristics. Short finish.

Drinking very well with a 2 hour decant. Smoke and dark berries on the nose. Blackberries, blueberries, baking spices and a touch of green pepper. The finish continues for close to a minute. I still think Sequoia is a hidden gem. I am not sure how it happens, but, my son always seems to show up on my doorstep when I open a good wine and have steaks. Life is good.

Completely consistent with prior notes. Drink now/next few years based on the level of fruit and greenness from the vintage. Beautifully balanced.

Great vintage, classic big Rutherford Cab, bold, dark and a splendid structure with a smooth long finish. Second bottle for which the cork split at opening.

Gorgeous on all fronts. Great nose that shows dark fruit. The palate has serious complexity. Leather, oak, blackberry , smoke. Hint of green pepper on the finish. Full bodied but ready to drink with integrated tannins.

Classic and enjoyable Rutherford Cab. Big, deep, dark, dry, earthy, structured tannins and long finish. Since this is a 2006 it did not hold up as well on the 3rd day in comparison to the first day but no discount for this. Drinking very well now and from a great vintage. Oddly the cork did evenly break when removing and slight staining and bleed was evidenced.

Not as tannic and Napa juicy as I was hoping -- on the drier side, with medium acidity. Best after 60 minutes, and it started falling apart after 2 hours. Would be great with BBQ short ribs. Glad I only paid half of the MSRP. 88-89

A little flat. But some interesting flavor underneath the tannins. I probably drank too early but lots of sediment already. Give it some time.

Tight in the nose and on the palate. Cool dark fruit flavors, a healthy dose of sweet oak, medium full body, and incredibly balanced. This wine's stand-out quality was its structure. And while it tasted well-balanced, my criticism is that it lacked complexity. There were no earthy, vegetal, or animal notes. So, bottom line: well made, if not a bit simple.

After reading all the tasting notes we were really disappointed with this wine. Decanted it for about 45 minutes so it would be ready for appetizers when our dinner guests arrived. I had also opened a 2006 Soda Rock cab as our second wine of the evening. The SG cab was not unpleasant, but it just never seemed to open up. It was smooth, but very muted. The Soda Rock cab was much more interesting and was the unanimous preference. …

A real beauty. PnP and consumed after 10mins in glass. Wonderful nose, rich dark fruits, oak, silky tannins, and enough acid to bring it all together. Excellent mid palate and finish. Don't hold back. Drink now.

Poured through a Vinturi on a pop and pour. Excellent nose and a strong purple hue to this powerful cabernet. On the pallet, a strong cherry and dark red fruit overtone. A little drier on the finish but all in all another excellent well crafted Single vineyard cabernet from Sequoia Grove. Still plenty of time to enjoy these if you have any. Highly recommended and a nice bottle all in all.

The 2005 vintage is much better than this effort. I recall the '05 having a good balance of fruit and dust and ended up being my favorite while visiting the winery. However, the 2006 has way too much Rutherford for me. The wine is flat and never developed with hours of decanting. Most will like it, but if not a fan of "the dust ", then move on.

Good nose, strong flavor of willd cherry ... I had high hopes for this wine but was somewhat disapointed. It was lkind of like when you get a fancy pastry that looks reall good but you bite into it and there's not much there. Seemed a bit flat in the glass and didn't open even after decanting and about three hours. Maybe in a few years this will pick up some interesting complexity. But then again, maybe not.
