Charleston Food & Wine Festival; 3/7/2019-3/10/2019 (Charleston, SC (various locations)) : When we were in Piedmont last year one of my takeaways was Barbera generally isn't my grape. It's fairly dark and brooding and intense and seems to get a decent amount of oak treatment. This was good compared to some others. Still has the oak, but it's not like drinking splinters. Lots of darker wood fruits. Makes me think of bbq. It's still on that intense side.

Indigena World Tour Day 1: Monferrato (Il Buco Alimentari & Vineria, NYC) : [Aged in small oak barrels for 18 months.] Vanilla nose. Smoky, mellow, red fruit in the mouth. Good acid balance.
