Wonderfully different, fully integrated and beautifully constructed. Very happy I kept it this long, though I do believe it will last for a fair few years yet.

Drunk from a half-bottle. Interesting blend of shiraz and Chambourcin, the latter representing 32%. Apparently the shiraz comes from a block destined for the Dead Arm and is left on the vine for a further couple of weeks. Syrah / Shiraz night : Dark ruby. One-dimensional bouquet. Not hugesly "shiraz" but I guess it is there. Sweet and fruity. No noticeable benefit in having aged this for a few years from a bottle I tried on release. It's quite pleasant but has none of the complexity and darkness of real port.

WOW. Not very much porto style, darker and deeper. Excellent pairing to a cigar.

Lancashire Life Lunch at Thyme at the Sirloin, Hoghton (Thyme at the Sirloin, Hoghton, Lancashire) : A really very nice scented herbal nose. Blackcurrant and licorice on the palate. Gorgeous. Excellent. It went tolerably with the b/currant and licorice ice-cream, but was massacred by the prune and armagnac parfait. Not a good match.
