Tertiary & fully developed. Bright fresh acid across the palate that drives with some grace all the way through the very long finish. Some chocolate, yes, and a fair bit of herbal leathery quality too. Delicious.

Dark cherry red with some translucence as it moves to the edges. Bright berry nose, some slight musty notes. Smooth, elegant on the palate but with a slight unpleasant bite. Cherries, dark chocolate, tobacco, cedar. Smooth tannins, bit harsh acidity, good balance. Finishes long, bright and dark-fruited. Still some pleasure here, but well past prime. Throwing some heavy sediment. Opened 90 minutes in advance of the note.

A beautifully mature claret. Needs and hour or 2 decant to open and show its best as it started out tight. Aromas of black cherry, anise, earth, cedar, spice and dark currants. Still has plenty of fruit with black cherry, currant, anise, earth, spice vanilla and cedar. medium to full body, great balance. the tannins have softened i the long silky smooth finish. showing really well now, not sure it will improve.

PnP, very young and needs time. Aroams of plum, black cherries and blackberry, tobacco and spice. Medium body, with similar flavors. Long finish with smooth finish. good now, but should be much better in a few years. If you open now, decant at least an hour.

Outstanding and very elegant. Purchased at auction specifically to celebrate our anniversary ('99). We took out of cellar 30 mins before consumption and immediately placed into a cradle to minimize sediment shift. The cork was in great shape. Tastes of chocolate and black fruits were forward, tannins and acidity were mild. Paired nicely with our baked pasta and garlic bread. Having visited the winery several years ago we were very much looking forward to drinking this lovely wine and we …

A beautiful soft and balanced wine. Aromatics are more earth than fruit where left bank like aromas of charcoal, tobacco and asphalt set the stage for in mouth flavors of young blackberry fruit, graphite and bell pepper. They all come together in this total package of a wine.

Dark red color. Aromas of black cherries, lead pencil and oak spices. Ripe, fully-integrated fruit in the mouth with excellent depth nod length. Complex and supple on the palate. Impressively, very fresh and intact for a 1999 California cab.

Well integrated and lovely. Nose is in a great spot right now with tertiary notes coming through. On the palate not heavy but with great finesse. A strong example of what aged Napa cabernet can be.

Perfect pairing with grilled flank steak. Plums, currants, and hints of leather in the nose. Medium deep red color. Plums, blackberries, and black cherries in the flavor. Well balanced wine with nice complexity and depth and a long finish.

Similar notes as May 2019. It took 4-5 hours decant before the tannins were resolved and they stood in the way of the fruit big time until such time elapsed. This is not a pnp wine for sure. 95+

Utterly delicious! Stark contrast to the 2016 Napa Cab just before it. Fully mature and drinking in its sweet spot right now. Deep, rich, voluptuous wine gushing with fruit but equally balanced with finesse with fully resolved round tannin. Super long and perstistent finish.

Dark red color, faint aromas upon pulling cork, earthy dark berry aromas appeared with airtime. Fruit was muted initially and improved over time as well. medium weight on palate, tannins were faintly present. If we had never had a Pride Mtn Reserve Claret we would say this was pretty good. However we have had many over the years and felt this particular bottle was not up to the usual standard. The fruit was more muted than usual and overall lacked …

Bam! This is an in your face, opulent, decadent claret from Pride. One whiff of the glass and you are immediately transported to their cave on the Napa/Sonoma County line. Other tasting notes suggest the nose is muted and that it needs decanting, but I feel like this is open for business right out of the bottle. PnP. Rarely will I give a Cali wine greater than 94 pts, but this one is deserving. The tannins are soft and round …

Brought to Old Hickory Steakhouse at Gaylord Opryland Resort. Excellent service. They decanted right away and we drank it. A little bit of sediment at this time. Purple/ruby in color. This is never quite as big as the Cab Reserve which I like very much. The nose has chocolate covered cherries. Some cassis. Also some spice/oak. On the palate, this is drinking well if still youthful. Layers although tight. In retrospect, a few hours in a decanter may have been …

pulled this out for dinner with the Miller's (Dan has a think for Pride wine), was really good upon the opening, big rich style but a claret and therefore plenty of secondary character -- leather, cedar, pencil lead, after a couple hour decant i thought is had gone down hill slightly as the fruit which was there in the beginning had faded and darkened, i would drink up for sure

Just amazing. Sweet, earthy nose. Some ripe strawberry and a touch of herb. Nothing sharp, all very nice to smell. Flavors are bit chocolatey, ripe cherry fruit. Finish is very very smooth if only slightly dry. But that finish so perfectly balanced that it goes on and on. It's ready to drink now. Possibly better a year ago, so drink very soon.

Big brawny red, tannins still moderate with rough edges. Full bodied. This is very good with great potential. Red fruits of cherries, plum, chocolate, cassis, oak, tobacco. Once the tannins mellow out and the fruits integrate better this will be great in about 5 years or so.

Wonderful balanced wine. Dark purple to the eye. nose of vanilla, plum, chocolate, and dark cherry. Red fruit profile with bing cherry and a touch of strawberry on the palate. Structure is present. Everything balanced and melting together. Long finish. This will improve with age and last a long time!

My first Pride. Balanced. Drinking perferctly well now. It took some time to open up and the fruit became more prevalent by the last galss. The fruit kind of sneaked up on us and by end starting showing some tobacco elements. Drank alone, wish I had a steak with it. I don't think I like the QPR though...
