Really good wine, ready to drink now. It was definitely worth holding onto to this wine till now, Anyone who is still holding this will enjoy their patience.

If you read the back of this label it says ‘We invite you to experience the evolution of Elderton and from the nose it's evident that this wine has been made as new age Barossa with deep plum and violets rather than big oak. The wine is a heady mix of red and black fruits ranging from plum to dark cherry with a a touch of licorice that complements the dense grainy tannins that frame the mid to back palate …

When I drink Greenock shiraz, I expect it to be exceptional. Kalleske and Hentley Farm manage to do this consistently. Whilst I regard Elderton as a premier wine supplier, I think they have a long way to go with this wine. It was very disappointing.

This wine sits really nicely between the quality of the Estate and the Command Shiraz. It's flavours and aromas primarily revolve around blackberry, dark plum, chocolate and spice, so complexity is not its thing, but approachability and tastiness certainly are. Good stuff. Drinking well already too.
