Not drinkable. But had 1 previous bottle that was lovely.

I found the '99 Les Lavieres to be an enjoyable aged Burgundy that is now ready to drink, with very pretty aromatics (showing some evolution, but still plenty of fruit) but a very light palate that suggests there won't be further upside. It's clearly a wine of elegance and not power. The nose was nicely perfumed with dark red fruit, smoky roasted meats, earth, and brown spices. On the palate, I found a similar flavor profile, but with a bit …

What a classic Burgundian nose - so much going on here. Earthy red and black fruits, with an emphasis on the earthiness. Not as pleasurable on the palate - the acidity here is a little dominant, and at least IMO, the wine could use a little more flesh/substance.

Clean and straightforward aromas of sois bous, plum, herbs. Mellow and easy to drink, nice balance of brisk acidity and supple tannins, with mature secondary flavors of damp earth and game. Not a ton of upside from here, but very nice today.

good -- perhaps not as expressive as last btl but still think there is decent value here

Light ruby color, with some brown tint. Some citrus notes with a hint of decay in the bouquet. Red fruit, slightly sour, lively, lean and elegant, with minerally notes and plenty of acidity. Very good.

Decanter for two hours. Still a fair bit of sediment in the bottle. While tannins were fairly integrated still could mature another 5 years. Strong notes of typical aged burgundy of earth, leather but some freshness by way of deep stewed cherries.

This has a lovely ethereal aged texture with still tangy cherry fruit and good acidity. It builds to a crunchy, complex finish with notes of minerals and spices. Lighter-bodied and quite elegant with nothing faded about it. Very fine for a Savigny of this age.

Hello sexy!!!! Amazingly youthful. This wine is delicious. Earthy, fruit cake, just reminds you of the holidays. Lavender, rosemary, sage, cinnamon wrap around a cherry, cranberry core that has beautiful concentration. Really fabulous wine. The score would be higher if there were no edges in the wine. Great Pinot should be seemless and this wine has a couple...still yummy.

over delivers! "current release" with good lift, a pure red fruit and earthy character .

Good bottle, if not a great one. Definitely time to drink: lean upon opening, but opened out nicely, still with firm acidity and defined, developed red fruit character superimposed on earthy, tarry notes. After breathing, it opened up, then shut down, then (after 2 hours) opened out again. Pretty.

Dried out. Bad bottle. No TCA, but no fruit either. Not drinkable.

Gorgeous - fully integrated with ripe, sweet, fruit, supple, almost imperceptible tannins, laced with underbrush and hints of spice.

Matte garnet. Good bottle. Very tight with edgy acidity and tart tannins at opening; needed decanting, after which it shows well: appropriate complexity and mid palate density. Tart red fruits (red currant, cranberry) dark underbrush and dirt. Looks like that bottle in 2012 was either better, or this one definitely on the downslope. All the same. a lovely mid-week drink for a fancy slummer.

RTD. Not going to improve but honest, lovely, developed, still showing hints of dark forest fruits, earth and dirt. All signs are to finish the case, mostly with dark pleasure. Medium length; fully appropriate.

Diploma dinner. Seemed tired; not a good bottle; or outshone by competition

Medium matte garnet. "Summer pudding" of damson plums, raspberry and ripe strawberry jam, very fruity but developed, forest floor, a bit woodsy with wet leaves, red licorice, cinnamon. Medium-bodied, very crisp and clean. Fruity with flavors as per nose but with a delicate edge and an underlying minerality. Fully integrated tannins, medium persistence. Medium to short finish. Medium, appropriate concentration to continue its plateau, but time to drink.

Aroma is pure, well delineated raspberries and minerals. The palate is pure velvet with sweet, ripe fruit. The rather full mid-palate however overwhelms the decent, though not spectacular, finish. Ultimately, I'd guess this will improve over the next 5 years (give or take).
