Light nose, opens up quickly, still showing tannins, not acidic, med fruit like mulberry, short length, an easy drink, not complex, very little structure, matches its price. Not a value buy, not a repeat buy.

Not bad with cheese ravioli. Maybe the cheese reduces the acid in the wine. It's a $12 bottle, so you can't expect much.

The aroma here is smaller, light, bright, and shows a little alcohol as it opens. There's a sour note on the first pour, but that fades quickly. Color is a deep purple. It's light in flavor, somewhat smooth, but a little sharp, this has bright fruit, and some light oak that appears as it opens up. Some darker elements are hinted at, but remain in the shadows of the flavor. Tannins are of only medium strength, perhaps on the weaker …

Full of flavor, yet light and easy to drink. Try it.

decent table wine-- a bit too fruity and less structured than some years

3 Hedges has created an every day bottle with the 2011 vintage. Cabernet and Merlot dominate, and Syrah plays 6th fiddle. Oak stands out more than usual, likely because the cool vintage doesn't allow the fruit to jump out of the gate first. Cherry and cranberry do come out to meet you. Tannins are subtle. Day 2: fruit has disipated, and acid now dominates. Less than enjoyable.

This is a well-made wine with good balance and complexity. A solid wine for the price that does overdo the fruit or tend to sweetness.

Medium weighted blue fruit, this one is a good QPR bottle. I'll keep it in mind for parties, but won't buy for myself again.

Ok nose . . . downhill from there. Watery, non-discript, etc. Pass

PMcCullough: not bad for a moderately priced wine. Solid nothing special.

It's a bit light but its smooth and has some lovely flavors. Could benefit from more breathing.

Not as good as past vintages. A bit flabby and hot. Not holding up on day 2 either. Disappointing.

Decent structure & fruit. Reasonably complex. Paired well with steak.

PNP: On the nose this wine is closed with light berry. Blackberry and cherry giving way to a thin tart finish. Saved most of the bottle for day two: Noses opens up a little with more red fruit. Acidic. Not up to holding, which I feared. Better wines for this price... Hot to Trot, McManis Petite Sirah, Snap Dragon, Castano Monstrell, etc….

Greeted with some sweet red berry and vanilla aroma. This is followed up with flavors of red berry, spice, and oak. Definitely has a lighter body but tasty and fair QPR.

There is some good and bad here. The bad is a streak of high acid, grainy tannins from lips to finish we can do without. The good news; there is enough of that 45th parallel, extra long day, sunshine, fruitiness to hold it together until all comes in balance. It is not together now. The color is deep dark purple. The nose has a shale, closed, still unforgiving red raspberry and black cherry meets wet earth minerality. Stoic, stubborn blackberry …

A sweet, vanilla, caramel nose - some light spice, a bit of oak, and finishes with loads of chocolate and caramel.
