Medium-light in weight, almost creamy in texture, lemon drop aromas and flavors. This is a beautiful wine that seems to be at its peak now. Cellared since original release.

Still needs quite some time to open the flavors. Liked it most on day 2 and only moderately cooled. Then the wine show subtle flavors, like hints of lime and exotic fruits. Very elegant style.

Light to mid gold. Aroma of sulphur and apricot. Fruity, fat flavours. Dose of coarse acidity. This is passable but no more. Tasted versus the Schmitges 2005 Erdener Treppchen Auslese* - a ca. 90-91 point wine with a similar profile. The Schmitges was better by a wide margin.

Light straw yellow, slight green reflection. Open nose, primarily citrus fruit, peach, subtle green herbal notes, a little beeswax. On palate, subtle sweet start, quite rich texture with soft acidity and finishes dry. In a very nice spot and was commendable pairing with sushi.

Criminally young but still delicious nectar. Riper than other vintages I've tasted with and explosive, nectarine and mango note. Will be profoud in time.

Kräftiges gelb. Typische Riesling-Nase nach reifen Pfirsichen, Aprikosen, schöne würzige Note, wunderbare Säure, allerdings ohne die ganz große Klasse und Rasse.

Flight 5, Germany - Robert Weil, Wine 3 (non-blind): Tasted at the winery. “VDP.Erste Lage” according to the new 2012 VDP Classification. The wine offered peach, pineapple, some yellow plum and mineral notes on the nose. On the palate the wine showed lemon, peach, some yellow plum and mineral notes, paired with high well-integrated acidity and very good length. A clean, very precise, well-balanced, very well made Riesling. A great wine!

Winery Visit (@ Robert Weil, Rheingau) : The bouquet is reticent but shows minerals, tart grapefruit, white fruits and grasses. On the palate a lot of slate minerality, a lot of tight tart citrus and also something salty. A special and excellent wine with a long future. Probably wise to wait until 2017 or later.
