Massican Massican Sauvignon Blanc, USA, California, Napa Valley

Definitely a step towards NZ with more prominence of tropical/plusher fruits instead of the sharp, pithy, chalky electric that I typically find in Massican SB in the pre-Gallo years. It’s still a “fine” wine, or maybe even “good”, but it’s just not as remarkable as it once was.

Lemon, grapefruit, lime, pineapple, some tropical fruits. Clean crisp acidity. Damn good.

Meyer lemon, tangerine, lemon balm, green pineapple, sea breeze. Elegant wine: medium bodied with a zesty acidity and a sweet citrus fruit finish.

pale lemon green. very expressive aromas and flavours. grapefruit, subtle passionfruit and pineapple, whiffs of lemongrass and saline crushed stones. dry, with medium body and high acidity. evolves from citric to malic in mouth with subtle complexity and a good length. 13.8% AbV; from vineyards in both Napa and Sonoma.

Melon, lemon, seashell, salinity. There is some complexity here but it’s a light, refreshing Sauvignon Blanc meant for near term consumption.
