Popped and poured. Light color clear red with no cloudiness. Nice aromatics of ripe figs, berries, herbs and mint. Well balanced with soft tannins and layers of figs, mint and raspberries.

By the glass. More exuberant and lush even coming from the same area, Santa Rita. Spiced, orange rind plus red fruit. Lovely combination. On the palate showed a silky texture but a tannic finish. Just good because that nose. Por copas. Más exuberante y opulento incluso viniendo de la misma zona, Santa Rita. Especiado, corteza de naranja más fruta roja. Encantadora combinación. Al paladar mostró una textura sedosa pero con un final tánico. Simplemente bueno por esa nariz.

PNP restaurant pour. This is really lovely and starting to soften and integrate. It's stemmy broad shoulders supporting a basket of red fruits, roses, orange zest and dusty Sta. Rita soil. Too good.

This wine hits it just right. Fresh and floral, a touch of acidity as well as sweetness; it is beguiling. As mentioned by the prior reviewer this is a wine that is really defined by the stem inclusion. And I think Chad Melville has just absolutely nailed this style. The tart dill like herbaceousness is just stunning when juxtaposed against the moderately ripe Sta Rita fruit. One of the top Pinot Noir producers in the state. Only Joseph Swan, Hartley/Ostini and Dehlinger can match the level of perfect terroir transmission Melville pulls off. And all at a very approachable price …
