Lush, creamy, and juicy, yet complex and deep with ripe yellow stone fruit and green apple, lots of sweetness in the middle with distinct honey notes, followed by dried herbs and a hint of petrol. All of this is underpinned by an incredibly dense minerality that numbs the tongue and palate and an extremely present acidity. Great and at a perfect drinking stage!

Strong petrol upon opening. Hint of sweetness on palate. Nice acidity, drinking very well

Pprrfect! Petrol blows off in 30 min, after that - a beautiful Riesling. Sweet and perfect acidity, wonderful minerality. A dream Riesling a point right now. Certainly years of development, but I truly love where it is now!

100% Riesling from the Laubach parcel within the Winninger Uhlen vineyard - a parcel with a lot of extremely chalky slate called Laubach slate - hence the "L" in the label. Fermented spontaneously in old oak casks. Aged on the lees for 9-11 months. 12,5% alcohol. Tasted blind. Medium-deep yellow-green color. The nose feels sweet and fragrant with aromas of lemon marmalade, some steely mineral notes, light petrolly notes of diesel, a little bit of crunchy Granny Smith apple, a …

12.5% abv. AP 10. Open 24 hours ago. EYE: terrific bright greenish gold color. NOSE: good intensity. It smells like quartz salt and cream, but smothering a tableau of stiff spring herbs, radish, whole lemon, and ginger. MOUTH: it's evident now, after 24 hours of air, that this vintage has emerged from its worn-acid, cocoon phase. An energetic rinse of minerals is neatly punctuated with cleansing bitterness and acidity. Active glycerin is filled with flavors of lemon seed, petrol, peach, …

Dominant petrol nose with a hint of reduction. A bit of ginger and citrus pith on the palate followed by some minerality in the finish. I would have liked more acidity, but still an interesting, fine Riesling

Golden yellow in the glass. Nose has a dominate petrol note followed by citrus, slate and something sweet (toffee?). On the palate though it is bone dry, silky, rich and weightless with no sweetness. The balanced but juicy finish echoes the nose and lasts almost a minute. Great wine and wish I had purchased more. Went surprisingly well with (slightly) over spiced red lentil soup. The wine cut through the spice nicely.

Better than 1-2 years ago, with a bigger petrol note; apples and lemon, good acid. May be better yet in a couple years.

Green apple, apple. citrus, apricot? Sharp, aggressive, may need time. Not a re-buy at price

This great Riesling is already very approachable. Dense nose with an abundance of tropical fruit, some floral notes but also petroleum and ripe pears. Acidity feels rather restrained initially but then gets rather juicy, citric and mouthwatering in the finish. I have a few more bottles and will probably open them within the next few years.

GG, more toned down coming after the Blaufusser 2014.
