Delicious, hedonistic and rich. Pale gold in the glass. Powerful aromas of barbecued pineapple, rich buttercream and vanilla. Full-bodied and lush. High alcohol and pronounced acidity. Flavours are deep in the butter / coconut cream pie lane. Hints of lemon and pear. A real treat for those that like this style.

Consistently balance Chardonnay in varied years I have consumed. 2017 shows a nice pale yellow color w/soft acidity on the nose. Nice mellow legs & nose opens to apricot & grapefruit. Flavor of green apple w/nicely balanced finish. So appropriate for Steamed Lobster tails!

Liked this big Chardonnay a lot, reminded me a bit of the old days. Buttery, Oaky, good finish. Can be a bit heavy for lighter dishes but we enjoyed it with a Mediterranean fish preparation.

I was expecting so much more as we tend to like the boldness of the Orin Swift wines. Darker straw color, some creme brulee on the nose and palate. Not quite in balance ... a little flabby, but did so well with the king crab with garlic butter. A little over priced.

This is full-bodied and complex Chardonnay blend. Medium color. Full fruit palate with stone fruits and plenty of oak. Long finish. Paired well with spicy shrimp.

This is a bold Chard that was well blended and held up to food well. It contributed to a meal of Shallot braised Swedish potato sausages and leek soup. After meal it drank well on it’s own. Interesting, not ine dimensional.

Taste Orin Swift Wines by Dave Phinney (San Diego Wine Co.) : "Aged in 35% new FR oak sur lie for 8 mos;" 11,000 cases produced. N: Butter, lemons, poss sandalwood P: Med body; RNDISH entry with NICE, almost swtish OAK/frt met by a crisp, almost harsh acidity/astringency which at least somewhat mitigates by the LONG, balanced, VERY slightly tangy, very, VERY slightly bitterish finish. For now & through '20, before oak/ABV likely make this unpalatable. 15.2% ABV; My VG+/EXC-, …

Big full bodied chardonnay. Across the nose and palate. Kinda obliterates the waxy thing of chardonnay. And I kinda like it. Not as fat as I would have thought. Ahh - its from Stagecoach. Tastes like it, and I mean that in a bad way.

Orin Swift 8 Years in the Desert Release (Chicago, IL) : The party line is that this is called Mannequin because you can dress chardonnay however you like. Well, why you gotta dress it up like [redacted]? There is no acidity -- all lipids here. Extremely bitter oak and a goopy texture.

Winebar [1 Rosé, 3 Whts, & 8 Reds] from 07/05/19 + 5 Shared Bottles (Vintage Wines Ltd., San Diego, CA) : "Aged in 35% new FR oak sur lie for 8 mos;" N: BUTTER (but with some restraint) & sandalwood P: Med, poss MF, body; Very RNDISH entry with nice, ALMOST swtish OAK/"frt" (approaching threshold R.S.?) met by a balancing acidity which DOES restrain the parameters into & through the LONG, tangy/swt finish with a slight bitterness that I'm concerned …
