Starts to open after about an hour or so. Translucent ruby. Some earth, but tart cherry flavors and food friendly acidity are the hallmarks. Wish I had more so I could track its evolution for a couple of more years.

The nose has really developed into a blossoming floral blend. The tannins are well integrated with a subtle dusty presence, lots of sour cherry flavor, and food friendly acidity. The finish is rather abrupt but overall this very enjoyable.

I haven’t had this wine for over a year and time has been very good to it. The nose is much more explosive and tannins nicely integrated while the sour cherry flavors, chalky minerals, and lip-smacking, extremely brisk acidity cause much slurping during dinner. I’m glad I stumbled upon a shop with a short supply of these left because I had finished my original buy long ago.

It's a very translucent ruby in the glass. Nose is rich but tart cherry with a hint of earthiness, and lifting floral note - I always think of Irises - not a flower noted for their scent (I don't think - I'm not a big flower guy) but it has a green, fresh vivacious quality that I find in these wines a lot. In the mouth it's lively, pure and uplifting in its delivery of a complex mix of cherry …

Bright ruby color. Nose of cranberry and sour cherries, which followed through to the palate. With air and some warming to room temp, the chalky/mineral notes began to emerge, though there also developed a slightly metallic taste on the finish. Distincitive, and good with grilled chicken, but tart/acidic to the point of being a bit out of balance on this night.

not showing much at all. nicely balanced, but just glimpses of the fruit that does seem to be there.

Nose had a very muddy smell, but after a hour or so seemed to be changing to red fruit aromas. Light bodied in the mouth, quite tart from the high acidity, and a hint of tannin on the medium length finish. Didn't enjoy this one too much, but will withhold final judgement, as more "research" is required! Day 2: Okay, the nose has cleaned up, and now reveals raspberry and strawberry. A bit smoother in the mouth, not quite as …

Nice, balanced Beaujolais. Plenty of tart red fruit and earthy mineral flavors. Good value.

Best bottle yet that I've had of this. Starting to get sphericity. Could use a bit more depth and length, but showing really well today.

Real Wine Assault (K&L Wines, San Francisco, Cal.) : $15. Pine, celery, some fruit, well-balanced, Good+. I've also had the 2002, and I just don't know what people see in this wine. From the descriptions I read, I would love it, but like the Clos Roche Blanche wines, there doesn't seem to be much there there.

Decent wine. Found it a bit sour for my tastes. Would have gone better with robust food or possibly after a few more months in the cellar.
