Moccagatta Winery Visit (Moccagatta Winery in Barbaresco) : Appearance is clear, pale intensity, lemon colour. Legs. Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of toasted vanilla oak, butter cream, tropical fruit. Developing. On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium+ alcohol, medium+ body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of toasted vanilla oak, butter cream, pineapples, nectarine, and slight limestone minerality. Long finish. Very good quality. Quite a surprise. {Visit to Moccagatta} From Chardonnay vines ~ 30 yrs old, comes this barrel fermented effort that makes no apologies for its élevage or its growing area within the town/zone of Barbaresco. Malo, diacytel, warm cashews and hot stones - all the trappings, sure, but not so simple as that.
