Bottle came straight from the winery, via the importer Nicliani, tasted at Oinoscent The wine shows bright but golden color In the nose, the wine shows high intensity, big ripe stone fruit profile, citrus jam, quince, honey, barley malt hints, showing layers upon layers, depth and complexity, old school utterly decadent Palate with high intensity, dense palate, citrus and quince again, grapefruit and lemon peel, thin nutty frame, mineral, preserved lemon, full body almost luscious, long finish A unicorn of …

Medium gold in colour, the aroma penetrates with quince jelly, hay, mango, William pear and a myriad of herbs: some fennel seeds, Scottish heather almost garrigue, Bay leaf, and Sage perhaps. As it opens, it reveals fynbos honey and leans more to sage with a warm tarmac or mineral hot stone element that adds complexity. A full-bodied wine, the entry is packed with flavour and concentration, displaying bags of fleshy pears and yellow apples and a smear of honey. This …

Lovely weight and concentration while having elegance and balance, evolved well over an hour in the glass, will improve.

Late night at Maison Dakota with Asparagus after the white burgs tasting. Drank in Gabriel Standart. Appearance is clear, pale intensity, lemon colour. Legs. Nose is clean, pronounced intensity, with aromas of complex minerality, citrus lemon-lime, earth. Developed. On the palate, dry, rounded high acidity, medium+ alcohol (13.5%), medium+ body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of damm complex minerality, sweet cream, citrus lemon tart with lime sorbet, mealy earth, cotton wool. Long finish. Excellent quality. Comes quite close to possibly …

Opened this with a great deal of anticipated and felt extremely disappointed. Deep straw color. The aroma was very forward, apricot and bruised fruit. The palate is rich although I was expecting much more freshness and depth. It’s broad, hot and hollow.

South African Chenin Blanc tasting (Oinoscent) : Fine subtle complexity, ripe stone fruit, peach and apricot, lime, pear, lemon leaves, floral nuances, fresh and young. It is in the palate that the wine shows its real strength and power, full ripe stone fruit, nutty, oaky, mineral ,high intensity, massive strength, long finish. Outstanding quality, drinking now but would surely hold. Wine of the tasting for everyone, a class of its own.

No notes taken but an absolutely stunning white combining minerality and fruitiness. Complex, balanced and very long.
