Nice, smooth. Apples, yeast, lemons, minerality on the aromas. Same on the flavours. Add in some lemon peel bitterness. Really nice wine overall.

4 years on its lees, 100% Pinot Noir. Hints of red, but also white on yellow fruit on the nose. Slightly yeasty, creamy, notes of spices. On the palate quite precise and bright, almost a little lean. Vibrant and powerful with good length. 89-91

From 375. Disgorged 11/2017. Straw like color. Rather mute nose, some yellow stone fruit, yeast and crumbly apple. Lots and lots of acidity. Medium finish.

Brioche, dried fruit, lime, apricot and toast. Very champagne-like nose with the yeast aromas. Medium + acidity, delicate mousse en medium body. Long finish and overall great balance. Outstanding, and suitable for ageing.

At a wine festival. I did not take formal notes. Disgorged in 2016. Lemony and fresh, with good richness and average complexity. Much like a lemony summer edition of Bollinger Special Cuvée. Good. We liked it.

A private dinner (Restaurant Esszimmer **, BMW Welt, Munich, Germany) : A blend of mainly Spätburgunder and Schwarzriesling. Fresher and more elegant than the Von Buhl Riesling Sekt tasted yesterday, but still in a clearly Champagne-like style - not at all the traditional sekt profile of a ripe dry wine to which bubbles have been added. Mineral core, lively but gentle mousse, smoke and brioche, hint of nuttiness, good length.

Sekthaus Raumland Winery Visit (Florsheim-Dalsheim, Germany) (Florsheim-Dalsheim, Germany) : Tasted at the winery with Heidi Raumland. One of his introductory/Tradition level wines. $17. Named after one of his daughters. 70% Pinor Noir and 30% Pinot Meunier with the Pinot Meunier aging in used barrels. All of the fruit comes from the 2011 vintage. Disgorged March 2016 after 4 years on the lees. 12% alcohol. 3g/ltr of sugar. A fuller body than the other Tradition wines. Aromas of smoke and raspberry. …

Degorgé Mars 2010 (bottle was ready made in March 2010 by final removing the yeast) Opulent style with low acid and a rather restraint perlage (maybe because of 5 years aging in my cellar). Loads of yeast, Brioche (sweet bread) and a hint of wood. On the second day (tasted from an almost empty bottle) it was still very good with a an excellent and persistant perlage, just with a little hint of firn. So drink up. Accompanying the gratinated …

Disgorged in February 2015. This sparkling wine was a little foamy, with very intense and very fine perlage. It offered red apple, strawberry, cassis, lemon zest, toast, smoke and vanilla on the nose. On the palate the wine showed lemon, apple, young peach, cassis, lemon zest and smoke, with medium to medium-plus acidity, creamy and very fine mousse and good to very good length. The medium to light-bodied wine finished slightly tart. Even if this is my least favourite bottling …

Apertif zur Weinprobe. Schöner Sekt, der es mit jedem Cremant oder sogar Champagner aufnehmen kann.

Nose with some toasted and smoky notes, green and yellow apple, and a hint of brioche and vanilla. Dry, apply with slightly tart green apple notes, good acidity, some mineral, and a long green-apply finish. Quite firm for Sekt, and surprisingly good. If served blind, I would probably have accepted this as a standard Champagne, because the nose definitely has some Champagne-like qualities. 86 p. From a 20 cl bottle with screwcap.

yellow colour, fine mousseux, smells of apricot and a little bit of melon, not as fruity as Raumland's Cuvée Marie-Luise and more dry
