Wines from the Lalandes de Pomerol are supposed to have a drinkability range of 3-6 years. So, I guess I was pressing my luck in holding this one for 9 years. Mais quel surpis! It was full of flavor, thanks to the very fruity merlot (80%) and the tannins from the small amt of cab sauv (only 5%) and cab franc (15%) gave it just enough structure. That said, I would not have wanted to cellar this wine any longer …

Aromas and flavors of red & black fruit, earth, spice & herbs. Medium acid/tannins. Drinking well now but should last through its 10th birthday.

Wish I aged this one slightly longer.

Double decanted, tasted with nice range of cheeses. Wine is concentrated, deep red-purple in color, not much nose, tannins still in evidence, but not at all harsh. A very full mouth feel, lots of fruit, decent finish. A wine that should be even better with a few more years of aging.
