Much more depth than 07', and richer with high acidity, still has time to come around, but a beautiful wine.

Drank with burgundy group - Bright red fruit profile. High acid and lacks stuffing. Drinking well but not GC in weight or nuance. Medium red, no fading or meniscus. Still seems a bit young but not sure if it's going to get much better.

89-90 pts

Nose of black currants, mildly spiced oak with woody scents, velvety tannins...leaves an after taste of dried longans

KYCellar June 2018 Tasting (HK) : High-pitched raspberry coulis, bright acidity with smoky cherry pit. Floral and bright with smooth texture. The zingy acidity is slightly volatile.

HDH Auction (Tru - Chicago, IL) : Lots of warm, red fruits on the nose with a touch of light florals. The palate was firm and pretty one dimensional at this point - mostly cherry and some cranberry. Hold.

HDH auction tasting at Tru; 3/21/2014-3/22/2014 (Chicago, IL) : The darkest of the three '08 Bernsteins I've tasted this weekend. Lots of dark fruit and oak on the nose. The palate is similarly dark and moderately complex. A faint hit of cough syrup, this comes off just a little hot on the back end.

Wines Tasted at HDH Auction (Tru - Chicago IL) : Open a couple of hours before tasted. Dense, black fruit that has very good concentration but seems backward and brooding for now. Similar to another bottle from several months ago that got more air before serving, but improved with more time in glass.

Some Burgundy with Dinner (The Bristol - Chicago IL) : Open almost 5 hours before serving, 2 of which in decanter. Lots of powerful black fruit aromas with with lots of new oak spice. More balanced and meaty spices emerged with more air including hints of black pepper and anise. Dense, powerful and concentrated on palate as well. Still lots of baby fat.

Oliver Bernstein Tasting (Fix St James, Sydney) : Cherries, some spice and floral elements. Palate isn't as nice as the nose, it is a touch on the lean side and the acid sticks out slightly.

Knightsbridge Holiday Burgundy Sale (Northbrook, IL) : Red and black cherry on nose, which continue onto palate along with a bit of blackberry as well. Moderate spice, well structured. This wine will need a few years to integrate better, but is already showing some very good power and intensity on the finish.

Ripe with lots of oak spice in its youth. Forward styling. Floral notes. Nice density. Round front; firm finish. Pretty wine.

Olivier Bernstein Cuverie Visit and Tasting (Gevrey-Chambertin) : Tasting at Bernstein cuverie. Black fruit with subtle spice. Slightly backward, plus needing more time for new oak to further integrate. Patience required, 90-92 point potential.
