Very good wine, benefits from more and more air, improved with every sip. Shining yellow color, bright aromas of pears and mango. Even some CO2 still on the palate. Fresh and unvomplicated, easy drinker with enough complexity and "flesh" to give it another 5-10 years at least

Golden-colored. Bruised apples and a hint of caramel on the nose. Apples, bitter citrus, mango, some white pepper, some sweet caramel and sweet vanilla oak. This is a very ripe vintage resulting in a rich and powerful wine with rather low acidity for the vineyard. The wine has aged beautifully though and has picked up some aged white Burgundy flavors. Beautiful wine that should hold another 3-5 years at least. Natural cork. - 91 points

Jerry & Darren's Celebration (Draper's Arms, N1) : Mild lawnmower shed. A very precise wine, minor spritz, my tiny sip was really rather delicious.

copy notes of last time- good, not great. Yellow fruits, seems a little bit overdone. At the end there's a little bit of alcholic sharpness and bitterness.

Light gold color. Intense aromas of marzipan and pear. Light acidity and slightly sweet finish. Lovely rich mouth feel with good length. Very good indeed as Clive might have said.

Even at 8 to 9 years old, this wine is still quite enjoyable. It has tropical fruit, bitter citrus, with balanced acidity.

Light yellow color. Lovely nose with pear, lime peel, and apricots. Nice acidity and mineralogy on the palate with decent length. This was originally opened on 12/9 and then finished two days later on the 11th. It was much better with the extended oxygen exposure.

Enough energy and zest to make this fresh and drinkable. There is tropical fruit and a pleasant vein of light spice. Good, layered, quaffable wine.

Transparent yellow color. Honeyed apricots on the nose. Medium-light body, medium-plus acid. Lemon fruit on the palate with wonderful chalkiness mid-palate and a great finish. So good that I got distracted from taking notes.

*** Certainly a bit young, but it came around. Drank over more than a week, with N2 preservative. Gentle and smooth, very nice balance and length. But, somehow, above all it projected a sense of calmness and serenity. Almost as if it could shake my hand, reassuringly.

On day 1, I was slightly disappointed, the wine felt very closed. On day 2, it openend beautifully, apple and pear notes, tropical notes (honey melon), med+ acidity and a very long, mouth-watering finish. Very good and will improve further (although I have my doubts that WA‘s 98 points are realistic…), 92+. I will stock up, great value at about 22 EUR in Germany!

This takes me back to living in Vienna in the fall of 1981, when I often enjoyed Gruner Veltliner whites in this style with the wonderful and varied Austrian cooking. A bright, crisp wine with pale yellow color, a saline, lemony nose centered on yellow currents, oyster shell and white flowers. On the palate, mid-weight and lifted, good acidity, long finish. Quite delicious!

Popped and poured, though after two hours it’s clear that a brief decant would have been a good idea. I am a dedicated fan of Gobelsburg’s Renner Grüner Veltliner. The 2019 is another in a long string of successes. It’s brighter and fresher than the deep and brooding 2018, and has less of the unctuous character that richer GV sometime carries, but that just fine. It’s a more refreshing edition, but still has the depth of other vintages, just on …

No re-fermentation issues this time. A rich and ripe vintage for Renner, but this wine seems to be ageing really well. Baked yellow apples, some tropical fruits (mango?) and a good dose of black pepper, a vegetal streak, a lot of bitter flavored citrus, slightly creamy finish. Not quite as fresh and mineral as in the cooler vintages, but this is impressive for its density and richness and it is starting to develop some more complexity with age. Should hold …

1 hr decant...first taste is so great, honeyed with snap pea bitterness combined, finishes with bitter and sweet viscosity. Great for me and so typical for the GV's I love. I do believe youth in these wines are key to keeping the freshness and vitality alive.

Bone dry and a fascinating palate. Not what you'd expect from a Riesling. Or, at least, not what I'd expect. Plenty of stone fruit, strawberry, honeydew melon. Good acidity, seashore minerality. This is a winner from a killer vintage.

Very fizzy on opening, clearly some refermentation in bottle. Quite a ripe and full-bodied wine in this vintage. Baked yellow apples, some tropical fruits (mango?) and a good dose of black pepper, a vegetal streak, some bitter flavored citrus, but not as fresh and mineral as usual, a rather warm mouthfeel. Still slightly tight and young. Will neeed to retaste it, but currently this is not a vintage that thrills me. I might prefer the fresher style of 2016. - …

The nose was floral and exotic with saline minerality, young peach, crushed stone and ripe apple. On the palate, I found soft, enveloping textures with balancing acidity, notes of peach, lemon and inner florals. The finish was long, floral and exotic with lingering notes of peach of minerals.

Very fresh and zingy, with citrus and green apple fruit surrounding a nice creamy core that got more apparent as it got warmer and more aerated. Slightly oily texture on the palate. Tooth melting acidity in the finish, as well as that peppery rush. Fabulous with asparagus risotto.
