Ripe, fruity nose more typical of Portuguese Alvarinhos than often more austere Galician Albariños; aromas of sweet apple, honeydew melon, florals, sweet lemony citrus fruits and a rich undertone of exotic fruits. The wine is rather full-bodied and ripe in the mouth, but crisp and bone-dry as well. This is a fairly light, dry, and quite refreshing Albariño with a nice mix of zesty if not terribly pronounced fruit flavours, including pear, peach, mango, pineapple, and lemon, along with some streaky minerality that keeps the whole thing focused. The tartness ultimately gives way to a lingering bitterness on the finish, but the length is short and so the result isn't so much unpleasantness as a cleansed palette. This was lacking the racey acidity that I look for in an Albarino. It did have a bit of a yeast character as a previous reviewer eluded to. Overall it went down fine, but I've had better for less $.

Pale lemon. Medium(-) aromas of apple, lemon and sea spray. Dry, medium acidity, medium alcohol, medium(-) body. Medium(-) flavors of apples, lemon, chalk, and again a fresh saltiness. Not flawed but definately beyond it's best days. Slightly floral nose but more developed neutral white wine. Some acid in the mouth but comes across as slightly flat on the finish. Probably was a nicer wine a year ago. It was as a BTG at the restaurant, closeout time?

Goud geel van kleur, met een heerlijke frisse, mineralige neus. In de neus, exotisch fruit, passie vrucht, appel, perzik en citroen. Daarbij amandel en een iet wat ziltige toon. In de mond, ronde zachte zuren, lekker fris, goede body. Afdronk, lang maar niet complex, hoog doordrink gehalte. Blijft 1 van mijn favorieten, goed voor een zomerse dag, maar ook perfect bij verschillende soorten vis gerechten, kan veel aan!

Blind Tasting 2010 Sancerres and Pouilly Fumes (Rich & Peggy's House, Los Altos, CA) : Ripe lemon and beeswax nose. Light to medium body with low to medium acidity. Ripe lemon, fresh cut flowers, just a touch green. Not very albarino-y, I guessed Loire Chenin Blanc.

Medium bodied, medium straw to light golden color. Classic aromas and flavors of peaches, crisp apple, and lots of terroir driven minerality. Plenty of acidity; a little different, but very good. Average finish.
