Deep purple colour with berry tones. It had aged very well and opened and decanted a few hours before dinner. It was quite mellow and the finish was slightly dry on the palate. I recommend drinking now rather than ageing further as this was in the drinking zone. A very enjoyable wine.

It’s like a mature powerful Pinot. Now in prime, balance and fruit integration on palate, med plus finish.

Very dark colored, as expected for Lagrein. Initially quite shy, this opened up after a while. Elegant and smooth, with good lift.

This wine really surprised me. It was much more balanced and rich than many bottles of Lagrein I have had over the years and I must confess I opened it with extremely low expectations. Smooth, deep, flavorful with dark fruits predominating. Really classy. Running out to buy a bottle of the 2013 (still available at CS).
