Clonakilla, Pinot Noir, Canberra District

Super fresh pinot out of canberra. Drank over 3 days and was showing well to the end. Dark cherries, kirsch and cranberries. Deft oak gives it a silky, long finish. You rarely see this out in the wild, but when you do, get your hands on some.

Receded rim (like my hairline), faded amber to brick hues. Nose holds most interest for mine. Marinated strawberries, cherry, spice sticks, touch of burnt wood - and a distracting menthol whiff that I see in the Ceoltoiri blend, which faded over the next two nights, more red fruits to the fore. Red and purple fruits. A delicious savoury turn. Nice palate intensity in the mid-weight category with a long finish. Really very good.
