Crimson Roots Cellars Zinfandel

I almost like this wine. Most of the good stuff we expect from a Dry Creek Zin appears in at least moderate quantities. But, it just seems to lack a serious, lively impact and character. Typical medium bodied viscosity. Very dark color. Red candy and something industrial on the nose which is basically a disconnect. A metallic, graphite, maybe menthol flavor interferes with the Zin aroma and flavor profile. Exhibits some decent medium toast American oak. The finish has the …
