Second of two bottles, and much better than the first. Resolved cabernet nose with plenty of Aussie characterisics. Cigar box, gentle red cherry/cassis, eucalyptus. Beautiful. Tannins fully resolved, still medium plus acid. More red fruit and mushrooms, alongside clay/earth. Excellent example of cool climate bordeaux blends.

The cork for this bottle was a little spongey, but it came out very cleanly. Fill was perfect. Lots of bricking on the wine--the color is a faded garnet. Notes are after being double decanted for ~ an hour. Dried raspberry and some rosehip on the nose. Lots of tobacco and Carolina clay. There's a bit of green from the cabernet if you really look for it. Almost no acid left, but stll a surprising amount of tanning. The palate …

Very good once again. Do not hold overnight however, it does not stay together. 1 left

Just keeps getting better and better. After an hour decant this has an incredible balance. New world but restrained fruit. Distinct terroir - you get that unmistakable Grampians dirt. The oak is there to provide just the smallest hint of vanilla and christmas cake.

I notice more oak this time around. This still rocks with all sorts of food.

Second bottle, I liked this more. I find less oak and more acid. This tasted more vibrant than the first bottle making me think that this bottle could last to 2012+. Same tasting notes as before - I think this is very well balanced - new world meets bordeaux balance.

Winery has just re-released the 2000 as it is nearing the end of its life. Soft tannins now covered by fruit. I get oak, vanilla, strawberry cream pie. The finish brings minerals, spices, and hostess blueberry pie. I like this and it went incredibly well with pasta and rosemary chicken. I think this will drink well through 2010-2011.

Wow. Dark reddish purple in colour, and singing after an hour in the decanter. The nose is incredible, intense and rich with Bordeaux-like herbs, blackberries, minerals, well integrated oak and cedary notes. It's almost as good on the palate with layers of more dark fruits, herbs and tannins starting to soften. Falls away slightly at the finish which doesn't last as long as I'd like, but this is still a thrilling wine with plenty of structure, balance and charm. Awesome.
