Decanted 45 minutes from magnum. Dense, muscular and dark but with supple tannins, this delicious, subtle Cabernet appeals to those who wish a change of pace from the very fruit-forward profile of most Napa Cabs. I like this style very much.

Double decanted nearly 12 hrs prior, back in fridge prior to serving. Deep dense ruby and purple color. 👃🏻 minimal nose, less aromatic or floral than the 2016 I had last year, but some blackberry 👅 lots of blackberry, some pepper, and vanilla. Did not have as much complexity as I remembered previously, but lingered 40-45 sec on the palate.

I love this … this is such a good wine! See my earlier review from 10/29/2012. If you drink one of these a month you should be o.k.! 😉

Wow … from front to back this is where you want to be. All black expressive fruit from blackberries, currants, black grapes, black huckleberries, black plums, black elderberries … well you get the picture. This is delicious … soft and delicate … perfect balance and long lingering finish. This is a wine you will drink as slowly as you can as often as you can and a tear will drop from your eye when the bottle is empty. Tasted this …

Think this wine might have peaked a few years ago. Likely on a slow decline. Still a very good wine with lots of secondary flavors. Will see how this evolves over a couple of days.

It's possible I simply did not decant this long enough. It was medium bodied, smooth with a long finish. Considering the other reviews I definitely expected more complexity. I did detect some nice changes after an hour in the glass. Definitely young and personally I think it needs another 3 to 5 years in bottle.

Got a glass here now and it’s been open for an hour. The cork came out in 2 pieces, but the wine is still good. The nose is menthol and athletic socks (I crack myself up) and even I can’t believe I am saying this. The wine swirls in the mouth with sweet dark red fruit, cassis, light chocolate syrup, dark vanilla and oak. I think it finished with green pepper and a hint of menthol cough syrup on the …

BV Georges de Latour Vertical from 4 Decades: '64, '80, '84, '89, '98 (St. Paul, MN) : Very dark red color. Spalsh decanted. Drank a glass over 45 minutes. Dried raspberry, light red fruits, dried shaved cedar, some earthiness on the nose. The palate has a black raspberry liqueur character, kir, sharper wood, raspberry over time, firm tannins, dark cocoa with a cherry top note, some heat. Good, but I can't help but think this was much better 5 years …

Such a distinctive napa cab nose, love the jam fruitiness. The wine is full bodied, certainly seems unbalanced but in the napa cab style. Extracted, tannic on the finish while holding a dark, leather, BlackBerry, mouth coating experience that lingers.

Dark ruby robe, nose of black and red currants, blueberry. With decanting it evolves from a fresh red currant and light mouthfeel to black currants with a bit more heft. Very nice. I've never had a Screagle so can't compare. Have cause for celebration next year and plan to splurge on one so I will revisit with a comparison at that point. Also have some Second Flight in the cellar so I'll do a comparison to that too.

This is Screaming Eagle! Heidi no longer produces Screaming Eagle but she has first rights to their vineyards. From there, she has used those grapes to produce her own label, La Sirena Cabernet Sauvignon. Tastes even better than Screaming Eagle when you consider it is 1/6 of the price. Thanks Heidi. The wine looks inky colored. The legs are medium. There is light sediment in the bottle. It smells like chocolate, black currant (cassis) and blackberry. It tastes like black …

My first bottle of La Sirena. First impression was: Wow! - this is huge. Nothing subtle here - it smacks you in the tastebuds with tons of ripe, rich, highly extracted, very dark fruit. Inky color with a subdued nose of dark fruits, oak, spice and menthol. Full-bodied with a soft texture, but also with lots of acidity. Flavors and textures like there is a lot of Cab Franc in the bordeaux blend (although I think it is less than …

My first from La Sirena. Superb Napa cab but likely near the end of favorable drinkability, this 2005. Dark, inky purple. Moderate nose. Balanced end to end. Three hour decant followed by another four hours consumption time.

Iliked this wine. A little hot. Flavors of dark chocolate, espresso, and the zing of alcohol. Balanced enough. Fruit and tannin. As usual, these wines seem to better day 2. Not sure I would recommend at 120 a bottle. I did enjoy it though and may go back for more.

No rating. Not so sure on this one. Decanted for 1 hour and it never came around, just stayed in a port-like state while giving great aromas, it was very linear on the palate. The minerality I once enjoyed has COMPLETELY disappeared. Unsure of its future.

Not as good as when I tasted in 2009. Maybe going through a weird stage right now. Needs tons of air. I splash decanter for 4 hours and it seemed like it still needed more. It was earthier this time than I remember, too. Finish was not as long.

Opened at 4:30. First taste a little over an hour later. Barely noticeable fruit on the nose. No fruit on the palate. Sour and drying. OK, wait another hour. More of the same. Can both of the La Sirena bottles (the other was a Syrah) I have tasted be exactly the same? Hopefully this is another flawed bottle and not the "style" of these wines. Maybe the joke's on me. All I know is that I won't be ordering any …

This a was a big bold cab, well balanced, sweet nose with licorice and plum overtones, flavors was dominated with dark chocolate over tones with hints of cigar box particularly in the midpalate, the front had a nice feel of eucoluptus and dark black fruit, the finish was awesome with very good legs and hints of vanilla, i thought this was a really nice cab albeit i rarely drink wines at this price point to be fair. Should age well …

Decanted 2 hours. What a huge disappointment. Medium body - . Occasional waft in nose of fruit. Seems like it has a balanced backbone of fruit and tannis but they are way too weak to build and survive the acid that destroys this wine. It's not corked and it's not a youth issue, I'm very familiar with both. Disaster for the money, avoid!

NYC Offline (Bridge Cafe) : WIML93,WA93,NOWS Tasted July 15, 2006 at an offline. Opened and served immediately in a Lenox Grand Bordeaux glass. Purple color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Nose of dark cocoa or maybe dark chocolate with some blackberries. Flavors of chocolate with blackberries as well. Medium acidity with medium tannins. Medium to full bodied. Needs 3-4 years in the bottle before trying again. No value recommendation.
