Megeve 31st of December. From magnum. Pairing with pintade (guineafowl) and sharing with the Lalliard’s and Charlie / Karolina. Deep purple Color. Pronounced nose with dense berries, forest floor, chocolate, Nespresso, mint, mushroom, truffles. Med acidity, Med body, Med alcohol, Med flavor intensity, silky tannins and Med finish. Beautiful dense wine, perfect tertiary nose, mushroom, very dense and sweet berries, wet forest floor, nice lingering salinity. This is great and perfectly drinking now - still has potential.

Was the highest priced entry in a 9 wine tour of Italy tasting held this weekend. Very plush velvety mouth coating tannins. Nice acidity.

Very "Tuscan Bordeaux" in that the fruit profile is on the black cherry side of the Bordeaux varietal spectrum. Lots of that in the nose as well as gravel and mint. The palate is medium+ bodied and lifted while still being very powerful. Lots of clean-tasting fruit, gravel, mint and rosemary. High, but perfectly integrated acidity. Long finish. Not a trace of heat from the 15% abv. My gobs were not smacked by the quality, but it is a very …

Superb. A very fine exemple of what Toscana IGT should be! Lots of dark fruits, plum, with a very interesting « ripe fruit » final! It is balanced and quite complex/deep. Not too dry, doesn’t taste like a sugar bomb. Well done !

Deep, dark purple-garnet, essentially opaque in color. Full, forward & attractive nose of ripe fruit aromas of dark cherries, blackberries & plums with overtones of dusty/earthy & floral notes, spices, cocoa, tobacco, minerals & hints of smoke & cedar in the background. Medium-full bodied, with an excellent concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, plush, ripe fruit flavors of sweet dark cherries, blackberries & plums with dark cocoa, spices, herbs, minerals & a hint of oak/vanilla. Long lingering finish. Drinks …

65/25/10 Cab/Merlot/PV. 65% new oak, which is still very visible given how young the wine still is. However, not overpowering and well integrated. Not a lot of Tuscan herb, which is a bit of a surprise, but some florals and smoke. Overall nicely scented. Silky and enjoyable. It just needs more time in bottle.

Dark transparent red --- Nose thyme, sour cherry, flowery aspects, cedar box, some cardboard and rubber, some curry, sanguine, spicy aspects, some petrol, elegant toasting notes, nice greenish aspects, red fruit coming through, orange zest --- Palate fantastic, captivating, nice flow of fruit, blackberries, overall fresh, minerals, really showing depth already, nice acidity, some unripe plums, nice vanilla touch, some praline, chocolate aspects --- Finishes youthfully on its powerful tannin structure, minerality and fruitiness. Tasted double blind. This paled next to the Sassicaia 2001 but also on its own it wouldn’t have been able to sing. It’s fairly closed and muted. It doesn’t seem ready. I wouldn’t touch this wine for 3 to 5 more years in hope for a better experience (or is that all and the wine will never be much better?). TN: Muted nose not showing much. On the palate classic Bordeaux with the earthy, herbal and mineral component at the …

Quite enjoyable wine, spicy with a solid structure and good taste. However I think, as with many super-Tuscans, it's over-hyped and over-priced. Most Tuscans are good solid wines (and only a few really great) but you can get the same quality from Bordeaux at a third of the price...

Tappo lunghissimo. Bene.

Nice and mature on the nose, with red berries, graphite, and floral tones. The palate is also nice and solid, but with a few surprisingly hard edges on the mid-palate and a bit of heat. Medium finish with notes of tobacco and spices. Nice, but not worth the price.

Delicious. After one hour decant (lots of sediment) opened to a full nose of dark fruits, herbs and earth. Drinking wonderfully at this point although a bit tight. Well balanced, silky, flavors of dark berries, cassis, oak and earth. Elegant and refined. (Doris 90: Plums, cassis, chewy, rich. Thought it was a young wine, surprised at 2001)

Decanted for one hour, utilizing a funnel. Eggplant-violet in colour, with a ruby rim. Very aromatic; baked raisin, currant, charcoal and a floral quality that's fresh. Soft tannins and the palate is very mouth coating. A wonderful '03, with evident acidity. Not overtly concentrated at all, while retaining the right amount of elegance. Elisabetta really did a fine job with this vintage being so hot. The raisin quality is not over-done at all. Starting to drink well and still has …

Simple Series III: My Birthday (Asia Grand, Odeon Towers) : I was bowled over by this wine. An excellent super-Tuscan. Still young, but on sheer drinkability alone, probably the best wine of the night amongst rather illustrious company for me. Gorgeous nose. Ripe plums and cassis was wed to earthy tobacco and rubber plant scents, plenty of spice notes and seasoned with smells of oregano-led Italian herbs. The palate just had an incredible liveliness and verve to it, with clean …

I actually enjoyed this bottle much more than the previous one. There are not a whole lot of red fruits here; in fact, I distinctly get green apple on the finish, but actually in a good way. A lot of herbs otherwise. Perfectly integrated tannins after 1.5 hour decant. A beautifully made wine. I enjoyed this wine very much, but it's certainly not for everyone. Deep inky purple in appearance. Aromas are bursting out of the glass - lots of blueberry jam, kirsch, cigar box - lots of dark fruits. Again very smooth on the palate - medium tannins, great balance - as smooth as velvet. Now getting chocolate covered cherries, blackberry jam, slight sweet fruits with a touch of peppery spice. Good long finish - excellent.

Just bought this yesterday and had it in the car today.I am out of town so felt it was the best scenario really. We'll, it started leaking. Small amounts up one side of the cork but nonetheless disappointing as the other tasting note is correct. It needs time! Lots in fact. It was too acidic, tannic and though it's hard to know the effect of a faulty seal, and it was by no means corked, at this point it doesn't …

Dark purple, lighter at rim. Intense nose of cool and polished blackcurrants as well as hints of tuscan spices. Full-bodied with good amounts of fruit, fine-grained tannins and acid and spices to back it up. Maybe a bit too polished, but otherwise great and the tuscan spices add a certain level of complexity. I'll wait a couple of years before drinking the next.

Fantastic looking wine in the glass - silky medium ruby with hints of purple. Wow - an amazing nose of strawberries, blackcurrant, tobacco and plums. The fruits seem like they are exploding into the glass and releasing their aromas. This leads to much anticipation for tasting the wine and I am not let down. The wine seems to glide around my tongue - very silky medium tannins and tonnes of blackcurrant, cherry, coffee, mocha and hints of minerals. With a …

50% Cabernet Sauvignon 35 % Merlot 15% Alicante Pourred into the decanter for a good aeration, about 3 hours before drinking. Very clear, deep, and brilliant ruby color. Very nice aromas or red fruits. To the palate medium to full bodied, with notes of gentle oaky vanilla, exotic spices and cedar. Good acidity, with still aggressive tannins. Needs time. Goes very well with a juicy T-bone steak. A supertuscan to drink absolutely. Excellent!
