Zu Jakobsmuscheln auf Lauch-Karottenbeet. Brillantes Bernsteingelb. Wirkt deshalb etwas plump. Schade.

Another spectacular showing. Poured it double-blind for several friends, alongside the same vintage Drouhin Arthur, all experienced tasters. No one thought it Chablis, on account of the ripe tropical fruit. Delicious!

Serious tropical fruits, ripe persimmon in particular, florals, sandalwood, and waxiness on the nose. As such, the fruitiest quality Chablis that I recall tasting. More traditional notes linger behind the fruit. Overall, the wine imparts and impression of richness, but at only 12.5 abv. Different and interesting.

** (and then some) C: Medium yellow N: Strong note of nuts, or something like that. P: Very good fuller bodied Chablis, heavier and thicker than the Gautheron Fourneaux 1er (which, all things equal, I prefer). Very lively and forward, slightly oily, but goes down well. Sufficient acidity to pull it along. Very good length and balance. Ah, the French know how to make Chardonnay! Played beautifully with grilled swordfish.

Nose of crushed sea shells and faint green apple. Medium acidity, more oyster shell, pear, a little citrus. Finished with a heavier minerality. A bit underwhelmed.

Maybe I'm crazy, but I expected more. I didn't find the clean minerality I expected. The wine was good but undistinguished, particularly at its price point.

Suprising amount of tropical fruit on the nose backed up by sea shell, grass, mulch and razor sharp back end acids.

Very nice, full bodied, unoaked, Chablis 1er Cru. Classic in character, layered, showing some aged with good acidity. Quite pleased with it. Overall, sharper acidity against fuller fruit, interesting play against them. Thumbs up.

Small taste. Salty minerals, seaweed, citrus. Maybe the most mineral of the 13's.

Chablis from Domaine Servin (Weygandt Wines - Washington, D.C.) : Greener fruit on the nose, lots of sea salt, even some seaweed and salt-crusted surfboard aromas. Tangy and briny on the palate, the chalk and minerals are gorgeous and complex, needing a few years to unwind. Lime, green pears, finishes long with oyster shell and wetsuit notes.

Notes from day 1, bottle open for a couple of hours. Pale yellow in color. Nose of sea water, hint of honey, citrus, seaweed, minerals. Palate of white grapefruit, lemon rind, sea water, seaweed, minerals. The finish was above average in length with really good acidity. Overall the wine was fantastic, about all you can ask for in this level of chablis IMO. Drink or hold: 50+5+12+17+7 4

Acid and then mineral driven and stark but elegant wine. A touch of France rounds out the palate. Long, acid driven, finish. Whats not to like, if you like Chablis.

Smells like fresh citrus, sea breeze, and herbs, with a hint of custard. Great acidity and saline minerality on the palate, and slightly herbaceous. Fairly long finish of salty lemon. Fresh, clean, focused, and quite tasty.

A nice chablis with good saltwater and lemon accents on the nose. Its palate isn't as precise as the MdT, but still fine and elegant. Lots of lemon, salt, herbs, and pears on the palate. Another satisfying 2010 from Servin.

Really nice Chablis, good value. Nice balance of minerality and fullness, but still crisp and acidic.

Orange peel, grapefruit and light white floral notes. Strikes a balance between fine minerality and lightly honeyed fruit richness on the palate. Very clean medium-length finish.

Really good. Opened up nicely. Citrus fruit (apple pear) that yielded nice minerality and a long finish.

Virginia's Finest...? (Weygandt Wines - Washington, D.C.) : Bright yellow color. Aromas of white grapefruit, seaweed, and minerals. With some time, I picked up some sage and herbs, which was really nice. Tons of acid on the palate, which I love. Creamy yellow apple fruit, grapefruit, green apple, accented with sea salt and a bit of brine. Delicious stuff that will continue to improve for a long time.

Notes from day one, bottle open for about an hour. Light gold in color. Nose of white grapefruit, lemon peel, seaweed, lots of minerals. Palate of white grapfruit and rind, minerals, little seaweed, herbs. Finish was above average in length and a very clean finish with tons of acidity. Overall the wine was tons of minerals and acidity and has me excited for to try more from this vintage. By far my favorite of the 1er crus year in and …
