Verite, La Joie, Sonoma County

Aromas present themselves with hints of mocha, cotton candy, vanilla, maple, hyacinth, and many complexities begging to be discovered. On the palate, pear, anise, loam, and lavender. As it finishes, Granny Smith Apple, mild acidity, sticky tannins, and light mineral. The aroma is what draws me to this bottle. The complexities in the aroma are present on the lingering palate, but very light. Another few years of aging will do wonders to bring these complexities forward.

Noticeably deeper colour vs the other wines; nose is very tight, a little metallic aroma and oak. Merest hint of something vegetal; very green on the palate. Angular and harsh. No fun. Just no.
