Lucas & Lewellen Malbec Estate Vineyards Valley View Vineyard

Decent every day wine. Nothing special or impressive and not like an Argentinian malbec. Drinking well and ready to drink within a year or two as it is not made for aging.

Great structure of fruit and soft bet present tannins. and for me this was a sleeper. Now on the hunt for more. Full bodied, long finish, dry and most enjoyable.

This bottle is better than my last consumed. There is a plum jam texture that is very appealing...some black cherry and vanilla contributes to the smoothness and palette. It's interesting what bottle variation or just a bit more time can do to one's impressions. One other note: this is probably at it's peak for the rest of the year and perhaps into 2017 or even 2018...though since it's a more delicate Malbec maybe not, so just got with the CT …

This just doesn't offer anything of quality. California Malbecs can be a bit boring and hit or miss. This one qualifies for that assessment. Better left as a blending wine in CA. Disappointed.

Solvang winery tasting. Dark ruby color. Aromas and flavors of smokey dark cherries, briary dark berries, and some spicy plums. Nicely balanced and a solid finish.
