Too far evolved with the faded fruit giving way to a lot of wood.

Delicious. Decanted 5 hours. Worth the price.

Drank 1st bottle in Aug’19 with Matthew and Alan. Funky, mushroomy, earthy nose. Little oxidized note but still fairly fresh. Brighter than a Barolo, which makes it more approachable. Structure is just starting to soften. Vibrant dark color but no browning yet. Beautiful dark fruit with slightly herbaceous note on the palate. Hint of acidity that transitioned into a beautiful supple finish with drippy tannin that’s just starting soften. Super classic super Tuscan. Will drink beautifully for the next 5-8 …

Last bottle, and the good components of previous bottles are still there. The lack of finesse is not noticed when paired with a deer roast at the in-laws

Bien, pas des plus complexe mais encore un beau fruit et une belle acidité, pas long mais pas méchant

Black fruit, power, sweet touch, friendly, full, round and generous, but lacks some finesse and seems therefore somewhat heavy and boorish

lesser showing than last time, lacking some balance with a too important bitter component.

Good value. Still good red fruit, and nice acidity. A little hot on the finish.

Emirates lounge. First time having a Caiarossa, understand same Dutch ownership of this Tuscan estate as Chateau Giscours and Du Tertre. After the 2000 Lagune and despite the 08 vintage being a cool vintage in Tuscany, this comes across as a big wine. Dominated more by ripe dark fruit from the Syrah, Cabernet Franc and Alicante grapes than Can Sauv or Merlot. Plenty of herbs and spices so there is some typicity and it's a well made wine but am …

Competent Supertuscan, which has genuine verve and territorial identity. There is, of course, a fleshy nose of ripe damsons, graphite, cedar, sweet tobacco, black pepper, some cherry confiture. On the palate, it's in a very good place now: rich, almost decadent, hedonistic, pulpy. There's plenty of rich damson, a touch fruitcake, cooked red fruit, all framed in a bittersweetness that I often associate with Tuscany. Definitely a herbaceous trace. Some minerality on the finish. Plenty happening here - this isn't …

Full bodied. Dark fruit notes but not a superb wine. Not on my list of future purchases.

The nose shows red fruits, elegant, fresh, toasted, stewed fruits. In the mouth we find a very prominent acidity remineding me of Sangiovese, the sweet touch gives a lovely interaction with the acidity, tense wine (was served blindly)

Great complex super Tuscan blend that is big and bold with an oaky flavor.

Complex structure, red fruits, acidity, sweet touch but nicely countered by the acidity, a bit lactic. Still very much alive with nice tension in the wine.

Retailer tasting : Friendly and earthy bouquet. On the palate juicy fruits, some earthy impressions, beautiful acidity and a great length. Really beautiful wine, early maturity now and a future of 3+ years.

Académie des Cinquante Bordeaux visit; 9/26/2012-9/29/2012 : Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc (30%), Merlot, Petit Verdot, Syrah, Mourvedre and Grenache. Biodynamic. Ripe fruit, velvety, hint of tar, excellent balance, quite modern, young but drinking very well.
