A pleasant wine - juicy, fruity, min oakiness. Refreshing.

Great fruit, med full body spice on nose and first taste. Mod tannins. Hot.

This one surprised me. Well balanced and velvety. Not as big and fruity as some of the cabs from this area. The fruit is there, just not overpowering. I feel it might be in a great drinking window right now.

Bright, plummy, and expressive, with blackberries, creme de cassis, and ocean spray minerality. It has a nice oak influence that frames the whole full-bodied package. Enjoyable.

Very fruit forward, sweet, not super complex, but went nicely with roast beef

Stewed black and red fruits with hints of cocoa and spice. Medium (nearly high) alcohol and medium body, medium(+) acidity and finish. Medium, soft tannins. Very jammy; best with red meat or chocolate. Pretty good value at around $20.

Lots of cinnamon spice and fake oak on the nose. And on the palate too. Just a little harsh. A little turgid and hard as it goes.

Not as good as the AP Zin, which is a much more rounded wine, but this is quite young, so perhaps it will grow a bit with some age. We will see over the next couple of years. Cheers!

Drinking well now. I believe the 2020 vintage is superior to the 19 and 18s.

Real nice, dark fruit, smooth. Opens a bit spicy, but evolves into a pleasant drinker soon after. Phenomenal QPR.

Easy to drink. It doesnt hit you fast full bodied. A long finish. Tony Lori 85 Tony 88 Doug 90

Lots of dark stewed fruit, nice nose, some chewy tannins that smooth out with air, plum shows up and the stewed fruit recedes. For $18 a pretty good deal but for a few dollars more would probably go in a different direction. Good summer BBQ wine!

Aromas of prunes, grilled black plums, and a lot of very overripe, jammy black fruits. Structure is decent; being from a cooler region of Paso Robles, the acidity is there as an attempt to restrain the cooked fruit. The mouthfeel was supple and smooth as well. However, the warm-climate sub baked fruit of central CA just overpowers the palate. I get a medium- finish with hints of chocolate at the very end. The acidity was definitely refreshing for a Paso …

Very plush on the palate. Not super complex. Shows blueberries, well integrated oak, and has a weird note of Dr. Pepper. Would be delicious with some barbecue. Otherwise, probably wouldnt buy again.

Dark color, strong fruity nose. More dark fruit on the palate - blackberry, plum, and blueberry. Soft body, a little jammy, and some heat on the finish. Decent depth, little complexity, smooth finish. Not bad, but not my style of Cab. May improve with a little more aging.

Pnp. Medium garnet in colour. Nose of plums and blackberries with a bit of candied purple fruit. On the palate, ripe plums with semi-ripe black fruits and a hint of black licorice are noticed. Light-medium bodied with a short+ finish.

Retail $25. 78% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Petit Verdot, 6% Malbec, 6% Petite Sirah, 3% Syrah. Quite fruity in the glass with oodles of blackberry, plum, black raspberry, and even cassis. Throw in some violet, hints of tobacco, and a meatiness that was a tad surprising. The fruit story continues onto the palate accompanied with a brilliant shot of acidity, plenty of depth, and a lengthy finish. $25? It's a steal. www.thedrunkencyclist.com

Hi dee ho! This is really good. Dark color, faint but attractive nose. Well balanced with a smooth finish. Not overly fruity or soft. Has some grip. Has good varietal character. Not overly complex, but pleasant and tasty drinking. Would buy again.

Not impressed, even for a $19 Cab. Not very fruit forward or good spice, very little to no tannins. Other than the color, I’d think it’s a medium bodied wine.

Not a huge fan of PR Cabs, and this did little to change my mind. On opening, oaky with a vanilla and caramel sweetness, not much in the way of tannins. Some spice, but not a lot of complexity. Better on day 2 as the oak and vanilla resolved a bit. Inexpensive easy drinker. A supermarket wine.

surprisingly good effort. PnP'd a glass to go with a bowl of ramen with rich creamy broth. medium purple/dark red; sweet oak, currant, cassis on the nose but slightly muted. the sweet tannin cuts through the creamy broth and roast pork nicely to keep the meal balanced. cherries, berries and more sweet oak on the palate. expect to get better in Day 2. very good QPR if you can get it for about $13. Day 2 - wine opened up …

Nose opens with some unusual licorice notes. Front mellows out with modest red fruits. Mid palate shifts gears again as the acid kicks in and the tannins take hold. Finish is dry with lingering tannins and dried fruit flavors. Overall decent but still a bit disjointed. This wine is young and may age into something substantially nicer. Part of me wants to put a few bottles away and forget about them for several years. Good QPR at $14
