Intens aroma av hvit rieslingfrukt, perro og voks. Stor, oljete munnfølelse, nektaraktig men helt tørr. Veldig ren, balansert petroleumspreg. Mineralsk, middels syre. Lang finish av steinete fjellbekk

APPEARANCE: Golden colour with a slight yellow-green tint. 11.5% ABV. NOSE: Lovely mature Riesling nose with primarily ripe tropical fruits; apricot, peach, lime, lemon, even some mango. Also Gravenstein apple. Some wet slate minerality and a hint of flint smoke. (93p) TASTE: Juicy, tropical, citrusy, viscous - almost buttery, ripe sweet lemons, apricot and mango. Gradually more and more stone minerality. Quite a bit of rounded, ripe citric acidity (originally 12.3 g/L) but it’s wrapped in enough ripe fruitiness that …

A fairly rich wine even by auslese standards. Some botrytis is apparent on the nose and palate, just a hint of petrol. This worked well as a compliment to dessert, I can't see using this particular auslese with a main coarse.

pretty gold color; a bit of spritz on opening the bottle but not on the taste; different wine over three days; started out a bit more flabby with too much apricot; by day two it was crisp with plenty of lychee, pineapple and fine acidity that more than compensated for a trace of sweetness; yellow nectarine and a hint of petrol on day three, still with fine acidity; surprisingly good and add a point for having the extra time to …

Color is clearly yellow and gold like and I thought it could be slightly oxidized when pouring it in the glass, but it wasn't. Perfumed and fruity on the nose, some tropical fruits like pineapple and dragonfruit, in addition to minor hint of petrol. It had good acidity on the palate, dry but with ripe pineapple, peaches, honey ad lyches, all with an mineral undertone that avoided the wine to be too "fat". It has a long finish. The wine …

This was really quite nice. It was a bright medium lemon yellow color. The nose was a fragrant, perfumed and fruity amalgam of tropical fruits especially guava and dragonfruit. The palate had good acidity, seemed totally dry with ripe pineapple, pear, lychee, guava and a mineral undertone and finished with a very long, dare I say, saline quality. Balanced, bright and energetic despite its age...Really lovely!

Rieslingfeier (New York) : Had alongside the Rottland Alte Reben, a site only 400 yards away. Also a nose of white peach. Very precise wine, mineral and steel; loads of very salty minerality. Has about 11g of sugar, but feels seems nearly dry due to the high acid. Quite a unique wine.

Vinen var litt lukket i starten. Toner av lime. Appelsinskall og mineralitet. Blomster. Etter hvert litt petroleum på nese og i smak. Søtlig frukt. Sitrusttoner, men også mer søtlig, tropisk frukt. Moderat til god friskhet. Ville tro den skulle være friskere. God konsentrasjon og god lengde. Lett mineralsk i avslutningen hvaharjegiglasset.blogspot.com

I was expecting something drier, but this had definite residual sugar, but was complex and interesting throughout. Mango and passion fruit to start and a gentle bitter finish with the racey acidity. Very nice, developed wine.

Tasted blind at TWM. This wind is pale yellow in color, medium intensity on the news, with notes of green apple, apricot, and a bit of chalk. On the palate, off dry, with medium plus acid, light tannins, medium minus body, with notes of tart green apple, a bit of sweet peach, candlewax, with a silky mouth feel in spite of tense acid on the medium plus (forever) green apple skin finish. Minerality and verve, a delicious Riesling, drink 2014-2022, …

Color starts tom darken, on the nose flowers, yellow apples and tropical fruit. On the palate the dominant flavors are peach (stone fruits), lemon and some lime and a very nice minerality. Acidity is mellow with a hint of petroleum. Looong aftertaste. Further storage is advisable, but the wine drinks very well now.

Farge: Gylden.

Popped and poured. Nose showing mostly peach and apple with some minerals and botrytis. On palate this is rich wth intense RS , uncharacteristically light on acid for leitz, and the botrytis has a little bite at the beginning of the med long finish. Not my style right now. Will see if the other bottles age but plan to wait 5-10 yrs for the next one. Hopefully improves.

153 NOK / 500ml

Riesling Revival with Bear Dalton of Specs (French Alliance Houston) : The Mag was a slight step up from the Klosterlay for me, but more of a different style. The Mag was richer fruit with more weight. Lemon custard with apple preserves on the nose. Almost pruned grapes on the midpalate. It was not too thick and gooey for me, but just barely enough acidity to balance. I would be concerned about this wine a few years in the cellar. …

Rhubarb fruit together with the high sweetness brought me back to childhood. We ate fresh rhubarb dipped in white sugar during summertime as snack. This wine tasted in the beginning just like it. After some time also apples. maybe a bit less acidity to balance the wery good sweetness, but still a good wine. The other 3 will be kept another 10-15 years.
