This was absolutely lovely, well made, character-driven bubbly chardonnay. Very soft entry with small bubbles, loads of ripe, bruised apple, and with undertones of anise and brioche. So pleasurable, even easy drinking.

Stødt æble, lidt smør og oxi. Til prisen, fandme i orden.

Slightly oxidized golden delicious apple and brioche. Medium acid with plenty of texture from the lees aging. Midpalate and finish are okay, but lacking intensity/length. Delicious and well made, but below expectations based on what I expect from Ganevat and the price point (~$70). I’d be happy at half the price, but would opt for reliable NV Brut champagne at this price.

Made with 100% Chardonnay from the Sud Revermont in Jura, organic vititculture. Brut Nature, Zéro dosage, EMB39446H, LCR23, 12.5% ABV. Pale white golden colour; floral and fresh nose, crisp and bright, bone dry but not austere beause of a good charge of ripe (citrus and stone) fruit, earthier and spicier than a Blanc de Blancs Champagne generally would be (although it's not too distant from what the character in the Côte des Bar can be), vibrant mousse, engaging bitters, yeasty …

Ganevat Dinner (Restaurant Mont Blanc, Amsterdam, NL) : Substantially identical to my previous note, a honeyed aspect noted in particular this time.

Brut Nature, zéro dosage. Made from 100% Chardonnay, aged sur lie for two years, followed by ageing sur lattes for another two years, 12.5% ABV. Ëlaboré par EMB 39446H (located in Pupillin). Diam Mytik 3 cork. Fresh and vibrant, lovely notes of ripe fruit (stone fruit, citrus) and brioche, yeast and flowers, whiffs of spice and earth, good balance and definition, silky mousse, creamy lemon, pleasing bitters, minerally finish with good length.

Good but not worth the $70 I found it for. Gavenat wines are fetching a hype premium in the U.S. Seems like a ~$45 wine.

Fun Vinos (Tambi) : Chalky, green apple, very acidic and linear. Not a fan.

Some interesting, out of comfort zone wines : So lean with almost no body at all; one-dimensional acidity.

ooh this was good - very nutty and oxidative reminiscent of the Selosse style.

11.5% ABV. PNP into Burgundy glass (“No” day): Pale golden to the eyes. Clean and pure oxidative notes of white spices. Fine mousse with fine-boned acidity. Very elegant and enjoyable indeed. 93-94 points.

Simple et frais. Pommes brunes et ce petit côté rancio, bien mais pas pour moi!

Needs a minute to open (and warm) up but the nose is very complex and attractive; notes of struck match, river rocks, with hints of coconut and pineapple. Palate is not quite as interesting as the nose but still nice with hints of lime peel and buttered toast. A medium length finish with good acidity keeps you coming back. If this were a sub-$30 white burgundy I would be thrilled with it.

One dimensional, not the wine I remembered drinking the last time I had it.

A good but not great bottle of bubbles, and a little boring compared to most Ganevat experiments.

Opened at the end of harvest at Wyncroft winery. Wonderful bead. Pale color. Very clean with crisp white fruit and biscuit notes. 90 points
