Paired with seared porterhouse. Pop and pour. Based on the state of other btls in this case, I didn't have high expectations. Modern-styled, but very nice: dark chocolate, hickory smoke, seared cherry, nice mix of fruit and spice. On the palate, good acidity, black cherry, cinnamon spice, bitter cherry liqueur on the finish, which shows attenuated tannin. Margot's bottle. Rich and saturated blackberry fruit; must be 100% new oak. Almost black in the glass, highly concentrated. Though we paired it with beef pies, it's more like a cocktail than a food wine (a Reynvaan syrah was the better match), or something to drink after dinner with a cigar.

Have been holding onto a few of these for some time and have it a good 4 hour decant. The fruit is nicely integrated and the wine is drinking great for an 11 year old cab.

Initially I was worried, muddled musty , then after one hour decant really transformed. Became denser, fruity with ripe black cherries. Underlying earthy elements as well. Moderate tannins

I got nervous about this wine because the cork showed a bit of seepage. I wasn't planning on opening this now...this was probably part of a wine club shipment that hasn't shown so well, so my expectations were fairly low. I did not decant, and just a few hours of slow-ox in the bottle, but this is showing fantastically now. Deep red to ruby on the edges. On the nose, some hickory, cedar, plum, earth, loads of herbs, and raspberry …

Decanted and gave about an hour of air. We paired with charred rare filet mignon, truffle, reduction sauce and white asparagus. The wine developed and broadened in just 45 minutes. It's a beautiful wine, drinking with a much broader profile than my past tastings. Extra air time is a must.

Jeb (WA) had this wine's projected development wrong. It's drinking well here after decanting but it's not a dark fruit oriented can. This is more red currant and plump than it is blackberry and bramble. It's 100% cab and that shows. (blending may have helped). It has 36 months in new French oak, but that doesn't show (thankfully). I think this wine needs to be drunk in next five years. Forest floor is ample and shrinking fruit leaves acidity persisting …

Drank at Taste Wa. Super smooth with red fruit and barrel accents nicely integrated. Excellent wine.

Nose of cedar and blackberry. Nice layers on palate with a juicy finish
