La Pipette La Pipette

This was an outstanding bottle of wine. I opened it at 8AM and tasted it at 3PM and then tossed it in a decanter. The wine really came together. Wonderful mix of fruit, tobacco and leather. I imagine this wine could last another five years easy. Outstanding bottle of wine.

Serious power, so much focus and precision, massively extracted. This is really serious stuff. I really should have bought more. It feels like there is cab franc or petit verdot in the blend as there is scant sweetness and there is a bit of an edge. It's really beautiful though. This needs even more time in the bottle, amazingly.

A very nice surprise. Well aged, but still delicious. Good nose and emerging secondary flavors, but fruit still present. Could hold for another couple years, but why?

This is really showing what it has now. A little hot, smoaky and oaky, slightly one-dimensional, but amazing weight, flamboyance snd extension, beautiful, effortless light licorice tones. Supposedly this is a 'cult' wine; I'm normally skeptical, but not so here. Beautiful stuff. It would take me a very long time to get tired of drinking this. Pretty special - this is not cut from the usual Napa mould - it's more serious, earthy and brooding, almost like a good Bordeaux, …

Decanted a couple hours. It's a big fruity, oaky Napa cab. Drinking well now. Might improve, depending on how you like your cabs, but I'm inclined to drink my other bottle soon.

Excellent wine today. I had a bottle in 2010 and 2011, I believe. It was definately at its best tonight, and possibly at its best about 2-3 hrs after opening. Long finish - with a surprising and pleasant aftertasting appearing about 20 seconds after sipping.

Very well integrated at this point. Good QPR blend. A bit too much Merlot on the taste profile for my taste, but enjoyable nonetheless. Probably drinking at it's peak right now. Recommend.

Need to find more of this. Was a gift. Had pre-dinner with assorted salumi and cheeses. Was a very complex and unique blend. I agree with other comments that this was very well formed for a young wine. Would love to see this again in a few years (2-3+). Hada nice Merlot backbone, but someting in their provided a bit more lushness on the fruit-side. Feel like a lot of these types of blen try to be too cute and …

Silky smooth bombshell. Very well rounded tannins for such a young wine. Despite all the innuendo about a cult wine pedigree, it really does have a cult profile. Almost overpowering now and needs at least 3-4 years to fully develop. Very impressive for the price.

Very well done for the price. Nice nose/flavors and enjoyable now. Drink or hold for a few. 91+ pts.
