Torre dei Beati, Mazzamurello, Montepulciano d'Abruzzo

M'è parso decisamente meno buono di altre annate che ho bevuto in passato. per altro evidenzia un invecchiamento precoce, sembra già un vino con parecchi anni sulle spalle. Rimane ugualmente un ottimo vino, ma questa volta non mi ha convinto molto. Mi sorge il dubbio che sia un Montepulciano da bere giovane, o per lo meno che da il suo meglio immediatamente, poi si spegne un po'. Oppure questa 2013 è un'annata debole. Mezza delusione.

Definitely working the meaty side of the spectrum, this was still good. I liked this better than the 2001, though it may reflect my expectations more than the wine. In any event, this is solid juice, and the aromatics are especially impressive.

delicious bottle of red table wine for less than twenty bucks. The wine has a great mouthfeel, with extremely fine tannin. I get some meaty, bloodlike flavors, along with tart plum. Pairs well with eggplant parm and some crusty bread. This was a really enjoyable bottle.

tasty bottle of wine - fairly simple. Dark garnet color, violet rim. Crushed cherries on the nose, and the palate follows. Juicy cherry flavors, and a scratch of tannin. Not too weighty, perfect food wine.
