Fontanabianca, Barbaresco, Serraboella

PNP. Soft roses, red fruit, a lovely young (too young?) barbaresco. Very enjoyable nonetheless. Consistent with my previous notes. More roses on day 2.

Opened to breathe for 3h, sampled throughout. Soft floral and spicy nose, lots of roses and violets, and alcohol (14%). On the palate: liquid roses, bright ripe cherries, and a wall of impressive chalky tannins, with black pepper and acid in the finish. Fantastic balance. The peppery finish last 30 seconds or more, wow. This is very young, perhaps too young, but enjoyable now because of its strong character, despite its tannic structure. Outstanding QPR.
