Wolf & Woman (Jolandie Fouch�) Syrah

This opens with that unmistakable South African edge � a faintly burnt, feral smokiness that recalls singed rosemary, hot stones, and the charred crust of grilled meat before the fruit even shows itself. As it settles, Syrah�s core comes into focus: mulberry, black plum skin, and sour cherry, dusted with cracked pepper, cured olive, and a whisper of iron-rich earth. There�s a wildness here, but it�s purposeful � more ember than ash. Average in quality.

Dark fruited Syrah, with no SA burnt tire funk. And then on the back still has kinda a bitter brett taste. Maybe I will hold off rating.

Deep purpleish red with a peppery nose. Complex herbaceuos flavors mixed with tart cherry and vanilla plum. Smooth finish and highly drinkable already.

So I�ve tasted through the entire wolf & woman line up and it�s quite impressive, this is a wonderful expression of syrah, black pepper spices, game, violets, rocky minerals and ripe dark berry fruit, for such a young syrah the mouthfeel is really elegant with powdered tannin gives a nice structure, mediumish acidity and a medium plus fruit filled finish.
