Dark purple with maroon highlights (5/5). Nose (11/15) of leather and pipe tobacco from the bottle. After some air, black raspberry, new leather and something meaty. The palate and finish (14/20) are a surprisingly complex mix of black raspberry, bitter chocolate, fish oil, and savory herbs. Softly bitter (chicory bitter, not in a bad way) finish with mild tannins. Becomes more fruity with air but still rustic throughout. International in style and meant to drink now, but could certainly hold …

Interesting and enjoyable, great QPR. Licourice tasting and on the nose. Medium body and smooth. Dark cherry and spice. Not a black massive Cahors, but a nicely balanced daily drinker.

very nice cahors. not really any better with the bottle age, maybe even a bit less fresh. more glycerin in the texture than i remember. still nice red fruit, good structure, earthy hints. excellent value and very tasty wine.

best showing yet at home. light, fresh fruit and floral smells, licorice but as an undertone, well balanced with good acidity. excellent wine.

this is a great bottle, and when you consider that it's about $10, it's a bit absurd. not clunky at all, like a lot of cahors. this is actually somewhat light bodied, with lovely raspberry, chocolate, and perfume notes. tannins are a bit coarse, but this is country wine. good right upon opening, but this needed an hour to blossom - no shame in decanting this one. great stuff, great with food.

On the medium bodies, fruit-driven side of malbec. Young but with air mellows and tannins are not rough. Blackberries and a hint of smoke. Pretty good QPR.
