Hi praise for this wine from a QPR ratio. I've always liked quali's gate pinot and sometimes feel it ranks above their reserve version of this wine, which I find a bit too oaky. This is drinking particularly well now. Worth a few years of cellaring.

Cherry scent, dry, nice on back of tongue, shorter finish.

PUBLIC-Sourced 100% from Quails’ Gate Estate Boucherie Mountain vineyards, with an average vine age of 24 years. Only the best barrel aged components are selected for this wine. Extended skin contact prior to 11 months of ageing in French oak (50 % new and 50% 1 year old) gives depth and character to deliver a powerful yet supple wine. With long term cellaring, this Pinot Noir will reveal feral notes and more mature fruit. Very cellar worthy with ageing potential …

Intense characteristic nose, delightful pale colour, on the palate reminds me of burgundy

We really want to praise pinots in BC but for some reason the depth desired is just not there. Saying that, it was still pleasant and there was a nice fruity and floral nose, sour fruits like cranberry, cherry and maybe grapefruit it also had decent tannins with some oak. We'll stick to Cali and Oregon until someone comes to the table with a BC pinot to brag about

This pinot had huge potential and we were really anticipating something special since QG is known for producing top pinots in BC but it just didn't deserve to get a better rating than "good". Loved the oaky burnt taste and berries were prominent but what lacked was its depth and body that we expected. The tannins also were a little harsh. This could use some aging and maybe it needed to breathe more.

An easily identified pinot nose, hitting the typical notes but missing intensity. The palate was a little thin on fruit, with barrel work being more present than anything else. A mix of vegetal and caramel in the mouth. A little more fruit would have put this wine in balance with its dusty tannin and good acidic structure. Not bad. Good QPR for BC.

Three days in the Okanagan Valley; 6/18/2011-6/20/2011 (British Columbia, Canada) : I enjoyed this much more than I did the 2008 rendition of this wine. This shows tons of spice, and oak dominating a pretty funky and thick smelling nice. It almost smells like there's American oak here, but it's all French (80% 1-2 year and 20% new). The palate is thin and light, showing some green tannins but overall it's pretty slight in character. The finish shows some gritty …
