Deux Montille Pernand-Vergelesses Blanc

Lemon, green apple, bruised apple, powerful minerality, earth, wet cellar. In a nice point, relaxed, but with lots of energy still.

Served at home to accompany baked bream. Light, browny lemon colour. Mature nose, hint of lemon sherbet, green apples. The palate is dry and mature, slightly oaky, with a hint of butterscotch and honey. Very good.

Good for its appellation. Nice fruit, freshness, enough body. Works as lunch wine or for party.

Tasted at Caviste. Colour is light steel/gold. This has a pronounced nose of tropical fruits and peaches. Lovely, smooth, well balanced, lemons, good oak balance.

Nice 2012 de Montille Flight (Dig Wines, San Francisco) : Yellow. Some oak toast, herb, and ripe fruit. Medium weight, good flesh and gloss. Mostly yellow pear fruit, not too woody in the mouth, good acidity and some minerality. This outperformed my expectations for a village Pernand. Very good.
