I was a little apprehensive about this although Girardin has proven to be one of my more reliable white Burg producers. A brilliant bottle this time around, shimmering light gold upon pouring held promise of good things to come. Birthday lunch at Manoir (Manoir aux Quatre Saisons, Oxfordshire) : My last magnum and it was gorgeous. Perfect pale gold colour, honey coming through the citrus notes. Mellow but powerful. (No hint of oxidation - lucky me!)

It's gone now: oxidized to the limit of drinkability. Wasted money ;-| A well-known issue with some white Burgundies, which just don't last long.

Darker gold; slightly oxidized with cereal, roasted nuts, toasted sourdough, slight honied note; silky on the palate, a little honey nut cheerios with a slight sour aspect. Would have been nice 4-5 years ago (as long as it's not pre-mox which I don't think it is--probably shipping/storage issue, but who knows). Actually not bad but would have been nice a little bit cleaner and fresher. I'm enjoying it for what it's worth tonight with Calamari and won-ton soup.

Chardonnay and Pinot Noir comparison - France, Australia, NZ, USA (G&E's, Melbourne) : Tasted next to 2002 Yarra Yering Chard and after a paired flight of Kumeu Mates 2021 and 2018 Ridge Chardonnay. I’ve had a few Montrachet before, but this was my first CC. Complex, developing nicely, but still with plenty of fruit. Loads of flavour intensity, slightly nutty and spicy, all held together with a strong acid spine. A great wine indeed. (96 Superb wine)

Really delicious. Fresh without a trace of oxidation or brett (which some others have commented on). Toasty nuts and honey with light citrus notes and good acidity. Somewhat lighter that other Corton-Charlemagne I have had (the 2009 Henri Boillot comes to mine as unbelievably powerful) but I loved the freshness and balance of this.

A golden beauty. Rich and delicious with honeyed notes. A nose suggesting fragrant lemony citrus aromas. After being opened a good half hour the profile does seem to change, but for us in a richer way. Seems to get juicier by the moment. Amazing wine at 14 years. Had with scallops atop cannellini beans, spinach, mushrooms, and sun dried tomatoes. Wow! Enjoy.

An initial bouquet of lemon and mineral is immediately appealing. Rich texture, with orchard fruit, citrus and mineral flavors. Develops a subtle plastic/chemical flavor on the palate as it starts warming in the glass- could be a strain of brett- but the bouquet is unaffected. A while longer and plastic quality is gone and is replaced by a sweetness on the nose and palate- almost Lemonhead candies in the bouquet and a lemon/lime soda on the palate. Complex and enjoyable.

Opened by Allred. This wine changed repeatedly during the night. At first it was lemon citrus. After some time, it took on almost an acetone nose, but this blew off after just a few minutes and showed some honey with the citrus. The last sips after it warmed were the best. An amazing journey with an amazing bottle.

A very nice surprise both for us and our diehard burgundy loving friends we shared this. We are usually disappointed with Corton Whites but this one was a real joy. Good golden still vibrant color, no hint of oxidation, good mineral feel on the palate, proper minerality and well assimilated oak. Good fruit still present, citrus, light nutty edge. Very good and in a very nice place. 93
