Level below shoulder No sign of seepage Single piece cork, very softened, came out in one piece. Some sediment requiring sieving. Not decanted. Tasted over 3h. V: translucent ruby with bricking at meniscus. N: autumnal forest floor w eucalyptus undertone. P: black tea, damp earth, eucalyptus and minty finish. A fine boned wine past its best but certainly not past being interesting. Taste slowly. Drink up, exceedingly mature, at the end of a gentle slope but still has interest. 12.5%abv

Fresh looking and fresh tasting. Nicely balanced, with abundant fruit. Well worth the wait.

Tip: Decant for 4 hours before drinking. So after 4 hours of decanting time, the wine opened up to be a big, big wine. Big everything including the alcohol and oak. Saving grace was all the components were well integrated apart from the alcohol which was searing like the midday sun in Adelaide. Floral and chocolate nose followed by syrupy, dark fruits, molasses body and a soft finish. Apart from the alcohol flaw, it was a lovely wine but you …

This wine has aged very well. Syrupy thick and heavy an hour and a half after opening, but five hours later it is drinking beautifully, showing depth and character beneath all that fruit and oak. It should be good for another four years or more. Great value at $26 from Garagiste.

Last bottle. Every time I taste this, I'm more impressed than ever. Still a fruit bomb, but with this much age, it is drinking beautifully. Outstanding for a $35 bottle. I wish I had more

Cork disintegrated, but no visible seepage. Decanted 90 minutes. Dark maroon with slight bricking. Supple attack with tart raspberry flavors. Mid palate is heavy, with savory, game and mineral notes that reminded me more of granache than Syrah. Some oak on the finish. Off from peak and nearing end of life.

PnP, this is nothing like the last bottle. It's hot and bitter! I get some red fruits alcohol and oak on the nose, but on the palette the bitterness is in the drivers seat. Over an hour the bitterness did subside, but the fruit in this bottle was not fresh. The impression I got was, I should have consumed it several years ago. Oh well 06 was a notoriously hot year in Barossa and they were balls deep in the …

In my mind, this is past its peak but is still very drinkable and enjoyable. While the fruit profile was obviously Syrah, the wine lacked depth upon opening.45 minutes later the wine added weight and complexity, but another hour later this depth was beginning to disintegrate.

Took to Vintage. This wine is just massive. Massive fruit, massive tannins and massive oak. It does settle down after an hour of air, but several folks asked if it was fortified. You've been warned!

When I first opened, I thought "what a vanilla oaky mess", score in the 79-81 range. Sat in my cellar for 2 days, and the oak completely blew off leaving a big, pure version of Syrah that paired wonderfully with a ribeye, salad, and baked potato. Suggest it be decanted to bring out its best.

Cork fell apart upon opening and wine required extensive filtering. Moderate bricking. Impressive depth of fruit flavors and mouthfeel. Finish fading a bit. Drink soon.

Cork was dry, so ended up decanting and filtering to remove the cork pieces in the wine. Zero expectations, especially when I read the 16 per cent alcohol level on the bottle. I was shocked at how good this wine was. Drank over 4 days. The nose always showed the alcohol, but the sweet fruit got stronger and stronger with each glass. Sweet blue fruits and spice in the mouth with enough acidity to make it good with food. Think …

Been awhile since I've had a shiraz. Poured into a decanter and consumed over an hour. Very fine sediment in the bottom 1/8th of the bottle. Good legs and structure, insanely deep rich coloring. Graphite, anise, star fruit, mature spice. Satiny mouthfeel, really silky. Rich flavors of dark, mature fruit. In a good place now showing its age, structure to last several more years.

I haven't been drinking much Shiraz lately, but this is one of my favorites. Hard to find around these parts. Most of the high end Shiraz is too cloying for me (like Mollydooker Carnival of Love). I hadn't tasted one of these in a while and I forgot how good it was. Decanted a few hours then tasted over the next 48. Large amount of very fine sediment. Dark fruit flavors, plums perhaps?, smoked meat, tar. Cellar time really softened …

Sharp attack, pronounced alcohol (16%), needs air even after using a Nuance. Let it sit for a few minutes and pronounced dark berry and cherry flavors come to the fore. Improved dramatically in a few minutes. Could still age another couple years.

Very nice. This shiraz has many dimensions. At times it was unctuous and complex and then the others Pinot like clarity.

Really quite nice. Last of 6 bottles was the best. A nice combo of Aussie fruit and mineral earthiness.

Decently good, but expected more. Of course - I'm comparing it to the usual slathered fruit that epitomizes oz shiraz - so just because this felt flat to me doesn't mean it was! Either way, not a worthwhile QPR from down under.

Fumy black pepper, prune, plum, blackberry nose with roasted herbs and stewed berry compote adding complexity. There is unfortunately a distinct boozy liqueur element too. Intensely clove and prune palate. This has serious concentration but really is a brute of a wine that could benefit from some retraint, balance, and seared meat.

Thumbs up to Garagiste for this one. Just when I've given up hope on Australia, this is the first balanced Shiraz I've tasted in some time. Actually pairs well with food, which is hard to find with Aussie Shiraz these days.

Not going to score this wine at this point. Tried first of six bottles tonight and relatively flat. Not much of anything on the palate. rather disappointing. Will lay the remainders down for a few years and then update my review. Definitely not drinking well yet.
