Kids: drink up. This wine is at the end. It is all fruit. Tannins gone. Not a ton of structure to this wine. Nice. Not great. Lovely fruit. Last wine of the night listening to Jazz after an epic feast.

Opened for about one hour before consuming at our monthly Couples Wine Group (blind). The nose is floral and delicate, big body, less old world in the palate than I expected, almost everyone said Napa Cabernet. The wine was a bit unidimensional but the finish was good. I think it should have benefit from a 20-30 minutes decant.

I took this to a friend's 50th birthday party. The wine has a nice nose, and is well made, but there is a hint that the fruit was not quite ripe when the grapes were harvested. As a result, despite some great wine making, because the fruit is a tad bitter, the wine did not rate as high as I would have liked. Not bad, but certainly not great.

Rating based upon PtV. No question it's good fruit and nicely made. However, at this price point, it should have more depth, complexity, evolution as it opens, and memorable finish. My third bottle over the years without progression.

I drank this over a 3-hour period and found it to be flat. To be 100% honest, this tasted like it was tired and at the end of its life. I have one more bottle left and I think my pinot friends will love it. I know Realm will really make this a great site, but this was not a good vintage and you can tell. Pop this one on a hot summer day or with a turkey dinner. Good …

I enjoyed this bottle with Tiger Woods cousin. Now that you know that heres my review: Yeah pretty big bold plumbed fruit with licorice and cherry and tannins to age. I have two more bottles. Ill update you in 5 years.

My first experience with Nine Suns. Decanted for sediment 90 minutes prior to tasting. Saturated ruby color. I get fig compote, toasted oak, and wet earth on the nose, along with a touch of heat. Pronounced dark red fruit presence in the mouth. I really like the profile here, powerful but restrained.

I don’t get a lot of oak on the nose - I read 2012 was 100% but couldn’t find anything for this late release unreleased vintage. I get more mineral/leather on the nose than oak or fruit. Cranberry, garrigue, graphite, plum skin. Nice acid that dips out in the mid palate nut pops back up in a long finish.

It took 90 minutes for the wine to open (probably would have gotten better is we waited longer, but the point was to drink the wine…). My guess is this is close to the peak for drinking.

This is a well-made wine. I enjoyed it at a good friend's house for Friendsgiving. The fruit was not as smooth as expected, and there was some acidity, which made the wine a bit astringent. All-in-all, however, you could tell this was a well-made wine from a great producer. Not the best vintage, however. I think this vintage would pair better with Italian food. We paired it with NY strips, mashed potatoes, and a green salad. Not too bad, but …

This is the 10 year anniversary release of the inaugural cabernet vintage from Nine Suns. Coravin poured. Color: glass staining dark ruby red. Nose: plums, raspberries, leather. Taste: very elegant and nice soft balance of red/blue fruit, tannins, gravel and fresh acidity/graphite l on the long finish. Drinking well now.

Tasted this a couple weeks ago with Jason Chang at the estate.. Very tasty, nice nose, medium+ mid palate and nice finish of about 20 seconds. Held its own relative to the 2012 that we also tasted, but the '12 for sure won in terms of complexity and a more full throttle feel to it. If you can get your hands on the '11, go for it. I think in 5-8 years the wine will be perfectly balanced and be …
